(Info for SE: Wacom Intuos Pro Medium PTH650 Broken USB fix by Soldering Directly to the Board)

After a LOT of failed attempts and truthfully a ton of damage to the poor board - I have finally successfully repaired my tablet.

In the end- the fix was exceedingly simple but I lacked any and all knowledge of circuit boards and how to solder. I wish I could have gone back in time and tried again on the fresh board

I've made a video detailing my experience fixing the board in the hopes that future artists without experience like me have an easier time.

I want to thank everyone who has bought commissions from me in the hopes of raising the funds to replace this tablet.  Truthfully if the job was done properly I expect it would last a very long time but because of my sloppy work I do believe a replacement is still in order in the near future.

In the spirit of fairness I have set that money aside specifically to only be used in replacing this tablet.

An Inexperienced Artist's Guide to Fixing Wacom Intuos Pro Medium USB

I'm not an engineer - I'm just trying to help. All I can promise is that this worked for me. If you are afraid of destroying the board consider taking it to a professional or getting a universal Cellphone Battery Charger to charge the wireless battery without plugging in the tablet. The Wacom Intuos Pro Medium PTH650 is a great tablet and i've used mine for many years - but the USB connection is extremely fragile. Many artists sadly report that their tablet won't connect anymore and can not even charge the wireless battery. Some people are experienced with electronics - but I was not. So fixing the issue took a lot of trial and error. I made this guide in the hopes of helping similarly inexperienced people avoiding my mistakes If you have some knowledge of soldering and want to cut to the chase - Skip to 4:00 in Credits to https://theaydin.tumblr.com/post/31005560950/how-to-repair-wacom-intuos-4-usb - A great written guide on repairing similar tablets and where I got the alternative attachment points https://www.reddit.com/r/wacom/comments/ji43oi/soldering_connector_on_intuos_5_touch_circuit/ga5ned3?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 - For the solder points of this tablet https://hackaday.io/project/163967-wacom-usb-fix - The Hot Glue on the board picture https://store.curiousinventor.com/ The Great image of pre-soldering wires OscarLiang.com - The Image of inserting a wire into a nice clean blob of solder
