Clocking out of work early for this, thanks!

I screamed out loud at the notification on my phone!!!!! Happy Valentines day, sending love for you both!

Yes lets go!

Oslo

Ozymandias! Let's go...

Antifa Lockhart

Yeah this one’s gonna be a rough one lol

Hank was so obsessed with catching Walt, he forgot he was Heisenberg...

N M

Excellent. Did you guys already watch the remaining episodes? Or are you still in suspense?

Alex I.

“Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later that debt needs to be paid.” And boy, did the bill come for Walter this episode. Has anyone ever seen a more phenomenal piece of visual storytelling other than the parallel shot of Skylar and the knives from the flashback and end of the episode? Such a simple yet genius way of showing how things have come full circle. How one small lie told by Walt in the beginning (about Bogdan keeping him at work) has spiraled and snowballed into a full-blown catastrophe that destroyed his family and countless lives in the process.

Natalie-Anne

you guys are the goats for the early release of this. TY!

Justin

The only real episode on imdb with a 10/10 rating. Interesting fact about the chess game being played at the fire station- the board was intentionally set up so that it would be impossible for the WHITE side to win.

Anonymous

This episode is why the show is my favourite. The fact that when Walter is rolling the barrel, he goes bye his trousers which blow off the side mirror is the first episode shows how much the people who made the show care and thought about what they are doing is special. No big deal made about it, it’s just there in a split second frame. Brilliant

Tbag917

One of the best episodes of TV ever!

Anonymous

With how on-the-spot Spartan has been with this show, i really thought he would be the one to get what Walt was doing with that phone call. But Pudgey came through and guessed he was trying to clear Skyler's name and take all the blame, including hank's murder so she doesn't get indicted at all. I was close to punching my laptop until she guessed it right lol great reaction per usual. i believe this is the greatest episode in TV hisoty. P.S. At the end of the day, for however bad Walt may have gotten, he gave up everything, inluding the money he did everything for, to save his family. that needs to be acknowledged

Anonymous

this episode man, is so hard to watch, poor Jesse :(

Vito Pagliuca

"WE'RE a family!" -Walts words "WERE a family!" -Walts reality I read somewhere these words were chosen wisely in the writing to highlight the descension of Walts character and how negatively it has affected his family. They obviously start off the episode with a flashback of better and simpler days to this falling out climax of them being torn apart. Just brilliant writing and absolutely superb acting. This is considered one, if not THE best, episode of television history.

Lyn Hurst

Great observation on the Bogdan lie being the beginning of the lies.

TheRoguePrince19

Not gonna lie I have no clue how it took them soo long to understand that like I understood it immediately when I first watched, like look what he’s saying and look at his face and the tears and pain he feels while saying that.

James Woodford

I didn’t cry when I saw this for the first time. But watching you guys, knowing what was going to happen. Waterworks.

Lyn Hurst

I would say good job Pudgey, knowing Walt was helping protect Skyler with the statement "what do you know about what I do anyway" it gives an air of her innocence. Also, threatening her and calling her names made it seem that she was the victim of Heisenberg and complied with him out of fear. I hate that POS Todd. As far as how I first viewed this episode, I was in shock. My second thought was and we thought things were awful with Gus Fring. These neo-nazi Uncle Jack's gang are scary af. Not sure if you noticed but Jack has a swastika tattooed on his neck.

AkiZzu

Finally the episode we’ve all been waiting for! Fun Fact: Dunno if it‘s true, but I read about this episode that the baby actress of Holly „improvised“ saying Mama during the diaper changing scene.

Lyn Hurst

Yes, Vince confirmed that Holly was facing her real life mother when Bryan picked her up, so she was saying Mama, mama.... to her and Bryan decided to run with it as far as leaving it in and using it for how Walt decided to give Holly back.

Anonymous

Pudgey’s facial expressions this entire episode summarizes the episode perfectly.

Anonymous

that shot of Walt on the floor like Gus is brilliant

TheRoguePrince19

The greatest breaking bad episode ever and Yes you can see that Walt completely blames jesse for hank and everything that’s happened and literally hates him after that point and spartan u get mad at walt for pointing out jesse and telling him about Jane which was cold hearted but how would you feel about the person u believe got your family killed , u would want them dead and even then he didn’t want jesse to be tortured really, just killed but he didn’t know they would force jesse to cook for them and as you saw he called off the neo-nazis when he saw hank and literally was giving them all the money he ever earned in the business, all 80 million to save Hank whose not even blood related but he sees as family and Skylar believed he killed hank and took out the knife on him understandably but yea Walt jr’s call was lying lol he didn’t pull out the knife but It’s understandable why jr did this and yes obviously that call with skyler was him clearing her name with the police, no idea how it took yall that long to understand lol but thankfully u did and This episode especially is why Cranston won his 4th emmy , maybe imo the best performance in tv history along with his other one in crawl space. Yea not everything is Walt’s fault , how could he know that Hank was there , he never thought that jesse would become an informant bc Spartan you were kinda acting like Walt is as bad as he was in the first half of the season when it’s pretty clear in the second half he’s not close to as bad , yes his actions are bad alot of the time but he’s not a cold hearted villain , U see that this episode. Jesse stans don’t come for me , he’s one of my favourite characters of time lol.

Kelsey

watching your initial reaction to the phone call (before your recap) hurt me, but I've had way more time to think about it and let it all sink in. That phone call was, in his mind, Walt's final act of kindness. His last act as a father was to do what he always wanted to do - look out for his family. When he thought he was dying, he wanted to protect his family by leaving them with no debt and finances to build a future without him. This time, he had to protect them from HIS own choices and actions.....the money was never even an issue at the end. Walt KNEW the cops were now involved and listening to that call. He wanted the cops to think Skyler was free of any knowledge or guilt about what he has done - that she had been coerced and convinced she or the family would be harmed if she acted against him. This was also his way of mending Skyler's relationship with Walt Jr....Walt Jr would never have forgiven Skyler unless he thought she had no choice. It's hands-down the most dark episode in this show - but it really does an incredible job of revealing what is important to each character. Skyler went along with Walt and acted like she had no knowledge or involvement because, for her, her children are the priority.

Chris Mullen

Loved the reaction! Such an incredible episode. I wanted to also just help you remember that in the first few episodes, Walt was offered a position at Gray Matter. And a flat-out payout, and he rejected them both because of his pride. So yeah it would have been unfortunate for him to have gotten the money that way, but he did have other options and he chose to cook because it was something he could do himself. Without the help of others. Maybe you remembered that already but wanted to point it out after listening to the final discussion, in case you forgot! Anyway, can't wait for the last couple episodes!

AlrightThere

Watching this episode with your guys reaction actually made it hit a lot harder. Just made everything seem a lot more hopeless and shocking even after I've seen this many times before.

Tim Martin

We’ve had a “Problem Dog”(Gale), a “Rabid Dog”(Jesse), now Walt is the “Stray Dog”, as an actual stray dog crosses the street behind the minivan as the episode ends.

Petteri Ahlberg

A lot of us have been waiting for this reaction even before you started reacting to Breaking Bad 😂

AlrightThere

Yeah two choices instead of going for the phone like the first time she went for the knife. Compares to Walts two choices of either telling the truth or lying. This episode was just incredible.

Rey Jr

Yeah. They often seem to forget that. And it is such an important moment in breaking bad. He rather chose to cook meth than swallow his pride and take the money

AlrightThere

The viewer isn't meant to know until you see Walter's tears. On second watch I agree that it seemed frustrating that they didn't spot it straight away since I knew what the call was about but from a first time watch the viewer is actually told what Walt is doing by his reaction. You can guess it too but it isn't made completely obvious until that point. They got it after they saw him tearing up

Tim Martin

I’m already waiting for a few BCS episodes and who knows when that happens hahah. 😩

Tim Martin

His face also resembles that of “the hideous crying clown” that Skylar was packing up to ship to it’s buyer.

John B Winters

If only Jesse had gotten in that van with the disappearer instead of heading to burn down Walt's house.....he does that, would have been out. But he didn't. now he is paying a heavy heavy price for that decision.

Nathan Cutter

The most gripping, heartwrenching episode of tv I have ever seen, and will likely ever see. Goosebumps ten years on…

Lyn Hurst

Also may have been easier to trace the landline and that is why he called it instead of Skylers cell. I believe it is easier to pull the records and have a recording that pointed to the landline at the specific time he called. He did break his phone afterwards but they may have gotten it all.

Tim Martin

…and if this episode wasn’t good enough already, we get a cameo appearance by Walt’s episode 1 pants as he rolls his barrel of cash through the desert 😆

Kelsey

he definitely knew cops would be at his house and wanted it to be heard. By calling the landline, he also eliminated any possible chance that Skyler would try to protect him by not answering (etc) she HAD to answer the house phone knowing it was Walt and it would be recorded. Skyler knew right away what he was doing when she heard his words to her - she wasn't hurt, she knew they made a non-verbal, but mutual, decision to protect the kids over the family as a whole

Tim Martin

On my first watch of this episode - what gave it away for me - was the tone of Walt’s voice and his calling her the B word. It was completely out of character for him to speak to her THAT disrespectfully. Then Skylar catches on to what he’s doing and starts acting all timid…”You’re right…I’m sorry”.

Ailene Evangelista

Your faces before you started watching the episode and then the aftermath is honestly heartbreaking 💔 this is obviously the episode we’ve been most excited to see your reaction to because it’s so good, but damn, it’s also the worst/hardest to watch. Everything comes to a head brilliantly. And it hits hard every time.

Stephen Patrick

One of the hardest episodes I’ve ever had to watch. When Walt fell to the ground in anguish is what broke me I remember it well.

Anonymous

a few episodes in season 6 that hit almost as hard as this one can't wait for that day

Mic

I remember when Ozymandias first aired, my heart was racing during that horrific fight scene. When it finished, I realized I was sitting on the edge of the sofa with my mouth hanging wide open. I'd never been so emotionally invested in and affected by an episode of television in my life. I don't have the same visceral reaction now, but rewatches make me appreciate it even more. One of the best tv episodes ever made.

Shay

Walt’s journey in Breaking Bad is one the best examples of the saying “The road to hell is paved with good intentions”.

David Cansler

Cmon S&P, Cersei, Joffrey and Ramsey should have prepared you for such a dark episode and yes it was a dark episode but one of the best of the series. Props to detective Pudgey for understanding Walt's phone call.

John Neiberger

One of the best episodes of television in history, but one of the hardest to watch. Brilliant writing and acting, and it's all heartbreaking.

Ketheric

GG

Julie

Spartan was really in disbelief about how bad it got this episode it’s actually kind of funny. The Ramsey reference also on the nose.

Corbyndallas

Walt knew the police were listening so he gave Skylar a way out so she won't be arrested and her and Flynn can go on...also Holly's acting was great she should win an oscar!

N M

Unfortunately Hank brought about his own demise. Had he just listened to Walt and let things go, he would still be alive.

Demented Avenger

Spartan looked sick this episode. Right after Hank he turned green. This show man...And good catch with the black color on Marie. She is no longer purple. She is in mourning and she doesn't even know it yet.

Timo Pahde

If you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention!

allen koch

Kiss my ass Team Walt baby!! My episode is next! Wait, what is that some storm clouds forming in the new Mexico desert?? Ahaha..another reason the greatest show ever, this show makes you feel shit, you don't wanna feel! I don't even get sad anymore when I watch alone the probably 10 times I've rewatched myself. But a good reaction, and it's always the woman, she gets teary eyed, it makes me the same way!. So for the very last time S&P , Walt, cancer, killed, or jail?? It can only be 1 of those 3 things. Do people see why all those other shows and actors and actresses were so glad this show ended?? And the way Vince sets you up all season, then the last 2 episodes. PERFECTION!!

N M

I would say there are some equally gripping, heart wrenching moments in BETTER CALL SAUL as well.

cheech

Proud of pudgey for getting the phone call scene 😊

N M

And Hank and Gomez would also still be alive, if Jesse had just stayed put and got in the van.

Tyrese Wallace

I agree, I can't blame Walt for blaming Jesse. Hank would have never been out there in the first place if Jesse didn't decide to become a snitch. Now don't get me wrong I love Jesse just as much the next person but, I feel like its kinda fucked up to go to/ work with the police last minute in an act of revenge. Like let's be real Jesse is an adult who can make decisions for himself. HE CHOSE the path that he went down. HE CHOSE to be a criminal. If he really wanted revenge on Walt for what he did to Brock he should have handled it himself (the way he did Gale). I know Jesse really isn't some cold blooded killer but I can't see why in his eyes Walt wouldn't deserve it. This would have saved a few lives and much heart ache. But no in the end, despite all of his bad decisions and wrong-doings he CHOSE to work with Hank, ultimately leading to these events and the events to come.

Nate

Its crazy how much Walt has changed over the course of the show. In the Fly episode, he almost admitted to Jesse about jane out of guilt. In this episode, he admitted to Jesse about Jane out of anger. Loved watching this episode again along with you guys. Amazing episode. Amazing writing. Amazing show!

Justin

When Jesse is playing Rage at the beginning of Problem Dog, there is an Easter egg on the wall when he is going down the stairs. The graffiti on the wall spells 'Gale'.

Greg Nelson

And the Oscar goes to …. Holly White

J_Fley .

Holly deserved an oscar for this performance!

Greg Nelson

Nice observation Tim. I’ve always thought the dog scurrying at the end was a bit of genius.

Kate

Love it. The episode begins with the first of Walt's elaborate lies to Skyler, and their relationship finally explodes at the end of a long line of lies, with Skyler unable to believe that Walt is telling the truth when he says he didn't kill Hank. And the contrast between their phone conversation at the beginning and the one at the end...devastating.

Kate

Tim Martin: Holy shit, I didn't notice that on first watch. The clown is mostly beige with accents of blue, just like Walt's and Skyler's outfits in this episode--and they both end up resembling the clown. 😳

Anonymous

This is hands down the best single episode of any medium ever made. Watched it as it debuted at an independent movie theater in North Charleston with a packed theater. During the showdown, the entire theater was DEAD quiet until the scream as Hank died. The Holly abduction sequence had all 150 of us on the edges of our seats.

Kate

It's definitely a measure of protectiveness on Walt's part... but another interesting thing about that phone call is how it's not so distant from the truth. No, Walt isn't the vicious monster he pretends to be in the phone call. But the fact is that he did compel Skyler's participation in subtler ways, and she really was vocal in her opposition to his work. I'm not sure Walt recognizes the resemblance between himself and the character he's putting on.

Lolilie

The fact that the "Fly" episode and this episode are both directed by Rian Johnson is one of my favorite bits of BB trivia. The show has some incredible directors through its run. That an episode like the Fly can be so hated (by some! not me! I love it) and Ozymandias is so loved. Perfection.

Kate

Nice point. My feelings for Walt are all over the place in this episode, but his cruelty to Jesse is unforgivable to me. Walt has mostly himself to blame for Hank’s death. He played around with hardened, cop-hating criminals, arrogantly thinking he could control them. He turned Jesse against him by the way he used and abused him (regardless of the times he helped Jesse). As much as Walt wants and exercises power, he's shit at taking responsibility, so he lashes out at Jesse instead.

Kate

I don't think anyone's commented on the episode's title yet. "Ozymandias" is an allusion to a poem of the same title by Percy Shelley. It describes a ruined desert monument to Ramses the Great (called Ozymandias by the Greeks), contrasted with the inscription on the monument: "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!" It's a comment on human ego and hubris. And just like Ozymandias, everything Walt has built as Heisenberg comes crashing down in this episode. I love Junior's heroic, coming-of-age moment when he puts himself between Walt and Skyler, and finally takes Skyler's side after spending most of the show on Walt's. I'm not sure I get Todd being singled out for hate and disgust, as much as he's hateful and disgusting. Kind of feels like Todd is just a product of his environment, which is violent and cruel. What makes him so creepy is that there's actually a shriveled little core of normalcy and decency in him, which clashes with the totally casual and cold way he deals out violence. It might have been mentioned by comments on previous episodes, but I'm not sure if you've caught on to the fact that Uncle Jack's gang is neo-Nazi (they're covered in Nazi tattoos). Of course Todd's totally fucked. And Walt's fucked for doing business with them.

lemmy101

I love the Netflix synopsis for this episode, nicely vague and non-spoilery and understatement of the century: "As the series draws to a close, everyone copes with radically changing circumstances." Yeah that's one way of putting it lol. What an episode.

Jackhammer

Trivia: - This episode has the rare rating of a perfect 10/10 on IMDb. - The episode is named after the 1818 poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley about the inevitable fall of kings and empires. - The posture Walter falls into after Hank's death is similar to Gus's posture after Max Arciniega's death. This is also reminiscent of a picture portrayal of the poem "Ozymandias". - While rolling his barrel, Walt passes the same pair of tan pants that he lost in the Pilot after they flew off of the RV. - The final shot is a stray dog crossing the street after Walt goes into hiding. This is the third of three major "dog" references in the show. The first is in "Problem Dog", where Gale Boetticher is described as such, albeit in metaphor, by Jesse to his therapy group. The second is "Rabid Dog", which describes Jesse as a dog that may have to be killed before he attacks. This final one, the "Stray Dog", is an obvious reference to Walt, who is now homeless and without his family. - The flashback at the beginning of the episode is full of symbols echoing its climax: Skyler packs and ships away a white statue of a clown crying blood belonging to Walt, that she's been able to sell for more dollars than Walt bought it, and that they both find now ugly. This symbolizes the end of the episode, when Walter White, a man with bloodied hands, is sent away by Skyler with his money, and everyone being disgusted by him. They discuss the name of their upcoming child that Walt will abduct at the end of the episode. The knives that Skyler will later use against Walt are conveniently set on the counter, their handles offered in her direction. Walt suggests a short break for the family the next weekend, like he will "suggest" they all pack up and leave for no return at the end.

Jackhammer

Bryan Cranston and Anna Gunn won Emmys for Best Actor and Best Actress for this episode. Moira Walley-Beckett won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for her writing on this episode. Breaking Bad won an Emmy for best drama series.

Jackhammer

"Ozymandias" is an 1818 poem by English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. It tells the tale of a fallen empire and the ego of the one who once ruled it: I met a traveller from an antique land Who said: 'Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand, Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed. And on the pedestal these words appear -- "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.'

Jackhammer

Heisenberg died in this episode. "We are family!!!... We are family... " was very painful.

Jackhammer

Rian Johnson directed both the lowest and the highest rated episodes on Breaking Bad: " Fly " (7.8/10) and " Ozymandias " (10/10). The fact that the lowest rated episode has such a rating says something about the show

Alex I.

The first episode of Breaking Bad makes you feel for Walter. Everything else that happens after that tests you to see how far you're willing to go with him. Fun fact: the flashback scene is the last thing they ever shot for Breaking Bad - there's a cool video of Bryan Cranston giving a speech to the whole crew in the middle of the desert, with nothing on but his underwear and that green shirt.

TheRoguePrince19

“Regardless of time he helped jesse” , oh you mean like the 5 times he’s saved his life , what he said is not unforgivable bc he has a point, if jesse didn’t snitch , they would never have been out there and hank would be alive .

Scott Johnson

I was so relieved that Pudgey figured out what Walt was up to on the post-abduction call to Skyler because for some reason fanboys get really mean toward reactors that miss the subtext in Walt's words as if it should be obvious to everyone. I caught it on first viewing but can see how a person could miss his intentions.

Julianjjz

I think this is the only episode on imdb with a 10/10 score

Paul

Fantastic episode. I think a summary in one word is, consequences. Also, while Walt is a bad guy, Todd on the other hand is pure cold evil. I don't think he's Ramsay because he's not sadistic, he's just... empty. Sociopath, zero empathy.

spartanandpudgey

not jail. either cancer or killed. that's our bet yeah this series makes you feel a lot that's for sure haha

Rey Jr

What Walt said was disgusting. He just told him about Jane out of hatred. It was totally unecesary and done out of pure spite just to hurt Jesse one last time. If Walt wouldn’t have called neo nazis they would still be alive. Also if Walt never betrayed Jesses trust with Literally poisoning a child he wouldn’t have gone to Hank. The point of this ep was literally that actions have consequences. It was a buildup over many seasons. Walt just doesn’t want to take responsibility and blames everything on Jesse

Millennial Designs

Can I recommend 2 Youtube Videos to watch after you finish the series? https://youtu.be/t78-B_PGsIs?si=8HPQBHSGIH2lyhcG It is a very emotional recap. https://youtu.be/_wtZnrOJJM8?si=rYS5_S1OZWzuT4Fh It is a very funny alternative edit. :D

SuperDuprEgg

George R.R Martin, the creator of Game of thrones said "Walter White is a bigger monster than anyone in Westeros. (I need to do something about that)."

Mic

Yeah, Todd is like Ramsey in that he tortures people, but very unlike Ramsey in that he's not a sadist. Todd appears to have a complete lack of empathy and little to no emotion. He just does whatever is needed to get the job done. The fact that he's hurting/killing people doesn't even appear to register in his brain. It's the polar opposite of Jesse.

Mic

After you finish the series, I highly recommend the BB Writers Room Reunion on YouTube. It's an hour long reunion with Vince Gilligan and the main writers on the show. It's really interesting to hear their perspective on the characters and what they were trying to achieve in their storytelling.

Anonymous

That's funny because he's not even close to many psychos in ASOIAF universe.

Scott Johnson

Among all the things that happen in this episode the most shocking to me is Walt's willingness to give away his $80 million for Hank's life. That goes counter to Walt's established selfishness and pride when it comes to his ill-gotten gains. Apparently, family is the only place Walt is willing to drawn the line, even family that is doggedley trying to put him in jail, though it doesn't save him in the end.

N M

I think Walt’s willingness to part with his ENTIRE fortune shows his true depth of love for his family — even if Hank is not even his immediate family, and that Walt is not the monster many on this Patreon channel think him to be.

Anonymous

20/ 10 Points. This, alongside Game of Thrones' The Bells, is the best episode of any TV Show. Masterpiece.

Scott Johnson

Oh. Walt is a monster, just not a psychopath. Remember what Hector said in the flashback when the twins were young "Family is all.". Some of the worst humans in history hypocritically carve out special exceptions for their families.

Anonymous

Never left. Both are masterpieces. In both episodes everything comes crushing down for everything. But haters never cared about truths. Keep on insulting and hating.

Munir

The Bells is not even good let alone best. We can agree on this episode at least.

Ashley

IMO Walt is kind of a monster. He's not the worst human being you could ever think of. And I think he genuinely cares about his family and Jesse to a certain degree(less than his actual family). But the ease at which he does not show much empathy or concern for anyone outside of his immediate family is pretty horrible. I think that was the main point of the scene with him whistling like he didn't have a care in the world after Todd killed that kid. Most people would have tremendous guilt over something like that. Even more so for someone who has children themself, but he barely seemed phased by it. Depth of love for family doesn't necessarily equate to someone not being a shitty person. It's actually kind of an interesting parallel to Cersei from GOT. Many people thought Cersei's only saving grace/redeeming quality was how much she cared about her children. But she was still a horrible person who did terrible things. And some of her actions actually harmed her children more than anything. I think the same could be said about the things Walter claims he did for his family.

Conzi

There was an amazing teaser for this episode of Bryan Cranston reading this poem over shots of the desert. It’s worth looking up. Extremely chilling

Scott Johnson

Why do you guys care who does or doesn't figure it out? Does it make you feel superior if someone doesn't pick up on it and you did? I don't get it.

Kelsey

And now you can re-read my comment. I clearly said the "initial" reaction hurt me. I never said they got it completely wrong. No need for me to watch it again, but thanks for your concern!

Anonymous

Walter suffers because of his actions in this episode. Dany suffers before her actions in the bells. Both are masterpieces. Only 1 judges the viewer.

Rey Jr

I guess Martin thinks that completely psychos like Joffrey were born that way. They are of course awful but they can’t help themselves. That’s how they were born. While Walt made his choices with a clear mind

Munir

It was King's Landing suffering in the Bells, not Dany

Anonymous

First third of the episode dany is suffering and isolating herself. The crowd was suffering once dany let it all out. But we didnt follow the crowd for 8 seasons, we followed dany. Just like Walter its her downfall in this episode. Only dufference is, walter is suffering the consequences if his actions and dany is suffering until she reliefes herself on kingslanding.

These episodes are nothing alike. Walt lost everything and still did the 'right' thing at the end with his phone call to save Skylar. Even at his very worst, he had some humanity left (and he was never good in the first place). Dany had already won but murdered countless innocents out of frustration. There was no nuance to her decision, it was a purely evil act. She wasn't even conflicted afterwards, it made her happy to do it. We've already been through this enough though, I know you won't change your mind. Let's just move on and enjoy the end of BrBa =).

2024-02-18 09:31:32 This is the highest rated episode of television ever. It stands to this day as having a perfect 10/10 on imdB and is widely considered to be one of the best episodes of television ever produced. To answer the question of "what is this episode?" This episode is the total collapse of Walt's empire. During the phone call, Walt knew the police were listening in. He was giving her an out, basically saying he was threatening her and that he built everything alone, taking as much responsibility off her as he could in the moment

Hank's death was already such a shock, but the scene at home and that image of Walt Jr protecting Skyler with Walt holding the knife, and then him taking Holly, that broke me even more. And yes Walt tried to absolve Skyler and the family of all blame, and she understood. The acting was fantastic from everyone. A masterpiece of an episode.

True, Joffrey and Ramsay are psychopaths where Walt is more sociopathic, but I reckon Tywin Lannister would be the closest comparison to Walt, and Tywin is arguably more evil and ruthless

Both of their actions cant be justified neither morally nor rationally. Not only out of frustration, she chose the people to spare jon. She chose love for jon and fear for the country. It wasnt purely evil from her pov. She wants to make the world a better place and in 5x9 she already talked about destroying citys to accomplish this. She has the heart at the right spot, but choses terrible means to do so. Dany us a goddess walking among mortals, we dont know whether her approach was right or wrong. It was wrong from our mortal pov and in short term, but gods know their way better and she had no opportunity to prove whether her way was right or wrong in the long term. She is the most complex, tragic female character in modern fiction. I just compared this episode to 8x5 of thrones. We only see her reaction the next episode. She is not happy about it. She is numb, in denial and shields herself from the horrors she inflected on the world. She is reliefed, not happy. Agreed, lets enjoy BBs Ending again. :)

If I recall correctly, Walt Jr actually lost his mind and lied to the 911 dispatcher when he said that Walt was the one who pulled the knife on Skyler and tried to kill her. I have no sympathy for him.

Walt never approved of Todd’s shooting of that kid, and didn’t take it lightly. But what can one do after something like that? Walt is a scientist at his core and thinks like one. Just like he reacted when the plane crashed and he spoke to the students about it in rational terms, he tries to keep his emotions in check. His whistling afterwards shouldn’t be held against him.

Very sad how much Walt is so far from reality when he doesn't realize the dichotomy of trying to be a decent husband and provider for his family and destroying the family at the same time.

Game of thrones is great but this is why Breaking bad is the best show ever, solid all the way through

I have been wondering the same thing. It is not a competition to see who got it right or who got it first. Not a race no prize at the end.
