Love the song used at the end of this episode, reminds me of telltale’s walking dead

Jason Sadowski

The actor who played Tuco (Raymond Cruz)was a full time cast member on the TV show The Closer/Major Crimes so he had other commitments preventing him from having a larger commitment. However the actor also didn't not want to continue in the role long term. He expressed to the showrunners & has made public statements about how playing Tuco required that he put himself in a head space that was not good for one's mental health. He was worried he would get caught in the darkness and it was not a role where he could have a lot of fun playing.

Tio means Uncle in Spanish...He is Tuco's uncle that's why they have the same last name Salimanca :) P2P refers to a method of cooking meth that doesn't require the standard method of using Sudafedrine but rather alternative chemical processes such as using Methlamine for example...commonly used by biker gangs such as the Hell's Angels in the 70's and 80's

New to your channel but not new to reactions; just want to say... THIS is how you do it. From the "Full Length Reaction Guide" above, to the camera quality, to the intelligent commentary (nothing worse than having a reactor say, "huh, forgot what happened last time"). Nicely done and so professional all around, plus you two are clearly having so much fun. Totally worth the full-lengths and can't wait to continue the BB journey!

Marcell

In terms of intelligence levels. Yes, Walter is a genius when it comes to chemistry, but that doesn't necessarily make him smart when it comes to other things. And Hank can be just as smart or clever, or even more so, regarding the drug trade or detective work and the like. The huge advantage Walter has is that nobody in their right minds would suspect him. Not because Walter hides it so well. But because before the cancer diagnosis he was just not the type of person to do this, and his family including Hank trusts him a lot. Imagine somebody you know personally who is shy, quiet, doesn't stand up for themselves, and is always afraid to take risks. Then imagine finding out that person is a huge drug lord. You'd also have a very hard time believing that, and would never suspect that person of doing that under normal circumstances. That's what Walters family is dealing with, and Walts big advantage.

Love listening to the post-episode analysis. There is so much left. Watching this vicariously through the two of you really highlights how expertly crafted this whole show is. Everything pans out slowly, quickly, and exactly at the right time simultaneously. You've gotten passed Tuco, but there are more devious "big bads" to come. So excited.

Shay

The word Spartan was looking for is a cartel (organized crime rings centered around drugs) and he’s exactly right—the only thing the cartels hate more than someone who murders a family member or another member of the cartel is the cops/DEA. That’s why Tuco’s uncle (tio) refused to rat out Jesse. I love your patience with the story because it could seem slow but I promise, it all matters and the time you put into watching it will be worthwhile. In fact, one of the best things about the guy that made this show, Vince Gilligan, is that he doesn’t waste a minute of screen time on irrelevant stuff.

Not sure if anyone commented on the earlier episode, but I think it's pretty unlikely Badger was trying to hit Jesse with the crossbow. If anything, he might have been aiming for the RV's tires. Also, when Walter asks Jesse "What's changed?," he's really not seeing Jesse's perspective. Walter doesn't have Hank on his trail in the same way. And as much as the whole Tuco episode shook Walter, I think Jesse's experience was a lot more traumatic, because he was disposable to Tuco and came closest to being killed by him. As for Walter protecting his family, always remember: he could have taken Elliot's job offer with the insurance coverage, or just the well-deserved money for treatment, without losing face.

Richard Flores

Thank you, for saying it at the end, Pudgey! That was going to be my highlight of this episode, how Walt hiding behind the door, he also got the chance to see what his family will be like once he's gone. How they are trying to console one another. These types of insights from the both of you are why I subscribed for ATLA, why I stayed for TLOK, why I am so excited for BB, and why I will watch GOT for the first time, but also watch it with your reactions playing.

kallista

thank you for the tio thing! lol my 2nd language i’m familiar with is french but since i’ve lived in america my whole life i’ve picked up on a bit of spanish as well

Rich Plumb

His uncle didnt say anything to Hank because he aint no snitch

kallista

probable cause just means they need a valid reason to bring people in for questioning and/or to arrest them!

kallista

thank you for explaining why hector didn’t rat out jesse

micah

the pseudo (the way jesse did it) are pills that are an ingredient to make the crystal but its expensive and not available so they stole that barrel full of the p2p as the replacement. its confusing for sure lol

Anonymous

Yeah id say its a bit spoilery too. Would be nice if you edit out the last sentence.

Andreas Köther

Manage your expectations when people hype up the show post season one (which I think is great, too). It doesn‘t mean that we‘ll get action scenes and shootouts in every episode from this point on. The seasons are longer now and we get plenty of quiet but very good episodes like this one. The dynamics within the families and between Walt and Jesse make up a big part of the show.

TheRoguePrince19

Bro I recommend watching Game of Thrones by yourself the first time. You should only watch reactions after you’ve already seen the show.

Marcell

Also, Jesse and Badger are good friends. Badger wasn't actually trying to kill Jesse with the crossbow, they were just having a disagreement. But are still friends. The kind of have a Spartan and Pudgey dynamic. Lol. And it's true that Badger is not the brightest, but Jesse isn't gonna cut him loose, cause they're friends, not really business partners.

I am so jealous you get to watch GOT for the first time. Sigh.

J_Fley .

"Theo" is Tio, and that just means uncle in Spanish.

Rey Jr

Yeah. I am a bit worried when he says for example I don’t care about Skylar or other small fries. That means he expects big drug lords and shootings happening all the time. But BB is so great because of characters like Skylar and their development

Lise

Honestly I've never thought it was slow, even the first season, it takes it time but that makes the show even better, it allows for fully fledged characters and the scenes are always interesting, never boring, there is always either tension, or emotion or even comedy. It's truly top notch.

Anonymous

How is that a spoiler when it wasn't remotely specific about anything? It's obvious that there will be more adversaries that emerge over the course of the next 4 seasons.

Anonymous

Aside from the fact that Tio Salamanca is cartel and it's part of their criminal code to not help the cops, there's another separate motivation he has for not helping the DEA in regards to the Tuco situation. I won't mention it because it's a spoiler but for the people that have seen the show you can probably surmise what that motivation is pretty quickly.

Anonymous

It's not that the pseudo is expensive thats the problem. One problem is it can be hard to obtain it in bulk without ending up on law enforcement's radar. Another problem is that it takes too much time to acquire the large amount of Pseudofed needed to produce meth on a large scale.... Time that Walter doesn't have. When Jesse was talking about "Smurfs"... those are people you pay to go get you the sinus pills containing pseudo. And you have to get several different people to get the pills since 1 person buying a ton a sinus pills at once would be way too suspicious. All it takes is the possession of a couple of the ingredients in bulk used to make meth to be charged with conspiracy. Like I said, it takes some time to acquire a large amount of pseudo without raising any suspicion. The moral of the story is: The P2P cook is way more convenient for Walt and Jesse and allows them to produce more meth and make more money in a much shorter time frame.

probable cause is standard nomenclature in american law where a judge feels there is sufficient reason to believe wrongdoing has took place. only then may a warrant be issued, giving police the right to proceed. its taken very seriously and prevents people from being wrongly searched against their will. 4th amendment of the bill of rights of the constitution
