umu

Let’s goooo

Franky E

Bumi in a goofy mood

Based on Pudgey’s reaction after the episode, I’m getting worried you guys are too caught up with the series getting more mature/serious 😬 which is fine, but I think just don’t forget to have fun with these earlier episodes. The series is mostly going to be fun and goofy, I personally really enjoy this episode as we see Bumi again and it introduces a few new characters, and the pentapox subplot was funny. I might be wrong but Pudgey seemed a little disappointed after the episode :(

I love this episode because we get to meet May and Tai Lee, two very strong supporting characters to crazy Azula. Book 2 is great because the world-building is bigger and the story starts to take shape. The Fire Nation is stronger than we thought. Aang and the gang now have more enemies and missions to complete. Onward to the next!

I love Ty Lee! She is such a fun and unique character. Definitely one of my favorites.

Yes!!! Still gonna have some lighthearted episodes scattered throughout the entire series (lmk if this spoils too much)

You’ve met Ty Lee (the acrobatic girl)!! Who has one of the coolest abilities in the show (which you guys mentioned), chakra blocking

Mathπ

Ty Lee (pink circus girl) knew that Azula would keep (not so subtly) ruining her show and endangering her life if she didn't accept, so she played it off as "the universe is telling me I need a career change", but it was just because she can't just straight up tell Azula "yeah of course I'll join, you'll kill me otherwise". As for Azula herself, she indeed has blue flames. As you probably know, blue flames are hotter than red flames, so it is meant to represent how much better and more precise she is at firebending, but the blue flames themselves do not have anything to do with lightning.

Mathπ

NGL the series really starts to delve into more mature themes after the exact half of season 2 (which also happens to be the exact half of the show). The early episodes of season 2 are still good tho.

Like Spartan noticed Azula uses the lighting bending A LOT which is a major flex. It’s the most deadly and difficult form of fire bending, so the fact that she uses it so often— even against her own brother and uncle— is telling of her character. Everytime she uses it, it’s meant to be a kill-shot, she doesn’t gaf lol

However she mostly uses her blue flames, they shouldn’t be confused with lightning.

matt

The blue flames are mostly what she uses, when she uses lightning it looks like lightning, the blue flames are just a representation of her fire burning hotter

Anonymous

she hasn't pulled out lighting that often so far. it's mostly just her blue flames

Anonymous

Ahh I see what you’re saying, in the reaction they initially thought the blue flames were her lighting strikes

Anonymous

By “often” I really mean more often than other characters who have also mastered this ability like Iroh. To me using lightning is like bringing a gun to a knife fight, so that fact that she uses this ability at all and against her own family is very indicative of her character’s mentality imo
