Demented Avenger

Horror adjacent. I would say it's very much a psychological thriller. There are four movies and a series.

Micah Mann

Can’t wait to see this! Fantastic movie! One of my favorites. Won multiple Oscar Awards. A true classic.

To covet basically means to desire something that isn't yours. Be it a way of life or your neighbours wife.

Julien

Not remotely a horror flick. Really just a psych thriller, which I prefer. I enjoyed this movie but it's never been anymore than for me. I don't really get why people love serial killer stuff so much. But I love your reactions and I find this movie ood enough to sit thru your reaction of it.

Jason

There is a direct sequel to this movie called Hannibal. It came out 10 years after this and Anthony Hopkins reprises his role as Dr Lecter. It's a very good watch if you were intrigued by his character.

The Conjuring is in my top 5 of all time

There is a series called Hannibal. It's based on this same character. Both this movie and the series are based on a book series about Hannibal Lecter. And Anthony Hopkins, the guy who played Hannibal, won an Oscar for this role. In fact, he has the records for winning an Oscar with the least amount of screentime. Also, this film is one of only three in all Oscar history, to win the Oscars for all 5 major categories. This film won the Oscars for best picture, best actor, best actress, best screenplay, and best director. So this film is pretty highly regarded. Glad you all watched it. And it's not horror, it's psychological thriller.

Julien

About being underwhelmed by Hannibal: yeah, this is the result of watching the foundational movie more than a generation later. This was really edgy stuff back then. But it's been imitated and built upon so much and since then that he looks tame now. But back then, these (now) mild mind games freaked people out and started a whole mystique about this guy. Personally, I've never been as fascinated by this character as so many seem to be.

Silence of the Lambs would be called a Psychological Thriller, or I guess if you wanted to get really nuanced a Psychological Horror-Thriller.

Jarosław Snuszka

You guys should react to Hannibal series, pretty good.

This story is fiction (loosely inspired by a real serial killer / cannibal). There are 4 original books written by Thomas Harris. Then there are 4 movies (The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon, and Hannibal Rising) and 1 great TV series (Hannibal) based on those books. They are all excellent. If you want to see more of the Hannibal Lecter character, I would recommend any of them but ‘Hannibal Rising’ is particularly interesting since it’s a prequel and tells the story of how Lecter became the monster he is. The TV series with Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy is terrific… intense, scary and beautifully filmed. (Also more recent.)

Tyler Clayton

Check out the prequel Red Dragon and the sequel Hannibal. Those movies are fantastic. Don't be confused by the timeline though. Technically the order of the movies is Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, then Hannibal.

Carrie Smith

I just finished Mindhunter last week and it goes over he true story of the FBI setting up their behavioral science division and going to the prison's to interview what they first classified "serial killers". Great series that unfortunately ended too soon.
