Kairos

Oh so many good options..

lina

planet of the apes and jurassic park trilogies >>>>

Hank Scorpio

Decisions decisions....

Alan

Is there a reason why Alien Covenant isn’t in that series? I do enjoy that one a lot as well

thank u next

Okay this poll is hard. Lot of classics and just all around good franchises. Had to go with Karate Kid for now because iconic 🔥🥋 but all of them should be watched

chriztianrox

Wow so many good options. I’d love to see Terminator, Aliens and Indiana Jones. In that order lol!

Owen Nicholson

POTA is one of the best movies franchises of all time, especially the recent ones

Fonzee

Damn that's a killer list

Jeffrey Miller

Terminator 1 and 2 are literally some of the greatest action films of all time so I gotta vote for it.

Marcell

I know people will talk bad about it, but you should just add T3 in there too.

crookedspin

Feels like you could just do Alien and Aliens and leave out the rest TBH, the franchise is pretty varied. Prometheus and Alien Covenant could be a separate poll option down the road

Oliver

Seán

Alien 🙏

Jasper

Mission Impossible robbed

Gambit

Salvation is one of my favorites 😍

Katie Thomas

The lack of Indiana Jones love on here feels personal

JonSnow21

S&P will enjoy Planet of the Apes the most I think.

SuddenImpulse

Planet of the Apes beating some of the most famous and classic trilogies in cinema in the last 50 years is wild.

Paul De'Armond

As long as the karate kid doesn't win, I'm good. But I think I'll vote for the Alien series.

Jasper

Some of my favorites missing from the vote sadly, although maybe you guys have already seen them: Mission Impossible movies, Godfather trilogy, The Matrix movies, and Star Wars. My vote will go to Terminator though, love those movies (first two especially).

SuddenImpulse

in fairness I liked the first 2, didn't care for the third, haven't seen the 4th. (I guess the plan is 9 movies....which worries me, most movie series can't even have 3 to 5 consistently quality films). I think the original Planet of the Ape movies do better on the themes and messaging (although I know those wouldn't be good reactions). No hate on Planet of the Apes, I'd vote for it in other circumstances, but against major major classics like Terminator, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park 1 or Alien 1, which transformed the cinematic landscape and industry in various big ways, unlike the modern PotA films, its not my priority. Everyone should vote for what they want though, no hate, was just a bit surprised.

BluePanda

All these iconic movies with iconic directors, and y'all voting for Apes reboot.

AvatarJordy

My vote is winning?! I must be dreaming. Planet of the Apes is 🔥🔥🔥

Farbod

Literally anything but the Apes films... Can we just do Spiderverse instead? I take back what I said.

AvatarJordy

If you’re going to watch the Terminator movies you should include Dark Fate. It is easily the best (film) after 2.

Demented Avenger

What a difficult choice. I love the Planet of the Apes movies, but it's crazy they are winning over some of the other choices.

Ibrahim Emin

Surely Terminator is the one here, 2 is spectacular

Lindsay Mathieson

Yah, my preferences would be (in order) Terminator, Indian Jones and Jurassic Park. If we were watching Planet of the Apes, I'd far rather watch the Charlton Heston originals.

Terry Maturo

how is it possible neither of you have seen some of these?

Steven Enderley

voting back to the future bc Michael J Fox is a legend and fuck Parkinson's disease.

Oscar Wallberg

Back to the future is so fun, loved it as a kid.

Zander Woosley

Of these options I voted POTA, but I would still love for you to watch The Maze Runner trilogy one day!

Paul

Sometimes I feel like I'm crazy because in almost every poll, the option I least want gets overwhelming votes lmao. I was never into the apes movies personally. Also, for the Terminator series, why is T3 missing? Did you already see the third one? If it's being excluded because people told you it wasn't good, I have to respectfully disagree with extreme abandon. T3 is still a fantastic movie.

Bagboy

I voted apes just because I'm currently playing through Donkey Kong 64

Eddy

I understand many like Planet of the Apes, but it's competing with such classics like Terminator 1 & 2, Back to the Future trilogy, Alien series, and the Indiana Jones series. It would be nice of you place them on the poll again so we can all watch each of them.

Hank Scorpio

I know they've seen The Matrix because they've mentioned it before. I highly doubt they've seen The Godfather trilogy.

Draethius

Since ones like Godzilla and King Kong are up there, I highly recommend King Kong (2005) if you haven't seen it. It's a remake of the original classic film, and directed by Peter Jackson - the same guy who did the Lord of the Rings.

Guy-on-Couch

Every time there’s a poll the results baffle me…not that Apes isn’t a great film series but over some of the others is crazy

Louis Melendez

Come on! Back to the future people! Not planet of the apes

Andreas Grochowski

Come on, it was pretty clear that Planet of the Apes will win. Especially the first is absolute awesome reaction material. The other three, tho not so much...

PastaDon

Johnny Lawrence for President

Mike

Low-key got me excited seeing Jurassic park on there, though I would suggest only watching the first 2 movies

Fobbekk Gamer

Terminator 1 and 2 is the best things to start here IMO. But voting is voting :)

imperial

This is one of the greatest polls ever! Please watch them all. I can't even vote. I'm happy with whatever wins.

Christopher

I knew for sure it wouldn’t be in the poll, it’s never coming lol

John Neiberger

If they stick to the original trilogy, it's one of two series on the poll where every movie is good. Back to the Future is another, but even that isn't as good as the first three Indiana Jones movies.

Siel sielll

The first planet of the apes is up there with all of these movies, after that one though not so much lol

Beat Conductor

I wouldn't say really good. POTA is B-tier at best whereas you got at least 3 S-tier options in here.

Allaiya

I vote for Terminator. I enjoy all those movies listed. Jurassic Park I only really liked the first one. Alien & Aliens are good but I hated Prometheus. Indiana Jones I can’t really remember that well & I’ve never seen PotA or Godzilla. The latter is just not for me.

BluePanda

It was not clear.. some of the most iconic movie series of all time are losing to what many people consider to be a throwaway series (apes). Most of the movies on this list have been so popular they have their own rides at Disney and Universal. The Apes series itself is a reboot - not even an original concept.

Xander

I would love alien!

SuddenImpulse

Its coming don't worry. Not sure exactly when but its in the wings. Whether or not it will be on a poll or not I have no idea. Its going to be a pretty extensive series for them so the important thing for them is they time it right for a period of time where they can reliably do it consistently.

Tyler Hargrove

I'm sorry, what? Back to the Future all day. I love several of the series on this list, but BTTF is a perfect movie. They teach whole classes at film schools based on its script. They don't do that with the other series. ( I really do love Indiana Jones, Alien, Terminator, and Jurassic Park, I'm not slamming those at all) i also think star wars and mad max could've been on this list as well.

E T

What a wonderful day!! Say his words!!

SuddenImpulse

These are just the result of commentary and recommendations from the various platforms (patreon, discord, youtube, instagram) and some deliberation over time. These aren't hard-hard set. Changes or additions can be made based on community demand and/or S&P's interest, be that ones like T3 or later movies in whatever movie series. Id be open to T3 far more than say, Dark Fate for example, personally. Although I do not make these decisions ultimately.

carl houlihan

man how Terminator isnt winning is wild the first 2 movies are iconic.

Beat Conductor

This is the most disappointed I've ever been with the patrons here.

SuddenImpulse

No hate to Planet of the Apes, but I have seen similar polls to this one, as far as movies listed, on many patreon pages over the last 5 years and this is the first time I've seen results like this lol. I am not saying these results are wrong, but its definitely odd. Some of these movies are some of the biggest, most famous classics in the last 50 years, a number of which changed the landscape and production of cinema forever after. I am all for a PotA reaction, but against options like Alien 1, Indiana Jones, Terminator, JP1 I simply have to put that on the backburner, personal opinion.

Omni

I'd love to see you two watch The Karate Kid trilogy because it leads to Cobra Kai (the best part of the entire list), but as far as pop culture references throughout all of media you really need Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, Alien and Terminator.

Omni

The original Planet of the Apes is an absolute classic, but your mileage may vary with the series. Godzilla is extremely spotty - there are good films and bad films.

big harsher

jurassic park trilogy 😭🙏been praying for this day

Omni

If we're talking about classic film series - have you already seen Rocky?

Jackson Natoli

Karate kid is a must because it’s leads to Cobrai Kai which is a must!

K

Indiana Jones :)

Javinator

Damn I was hoping for Mission Impossible

J G

Scrap the poll and watch Alien please :)

Shellbot

How tf is the monkey movie winning over Alien, Terminator and Jurassic Park 😭

Kate

Given how many options there are and how many weeks will be absorbed by the result, maybe you could have one narrower poll (top 3-4 options) before the final head-to-head poll? I think that would end up better reflecting what most people want. Too bad Patreon doesn't have a ranked choice polling option.

Owen Hargrave

this community would let some film beat The Godfather in a poll, it’s so funny. I love the planet of the apes films and I actually think it’s underrated as a trilogy but there is some absolute classics here in Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, Terminators, Indiana Jones and even the Karate kid, come on.

Roy Koopa

Karate Kid trilogy if it mean you’ll watch Cobra Kai. 😂

Farbod

We must all unite and defeat the Apes. Almost all the other choices are leagues better. This cannot stand.

K

Another vote for adding T3 to the Terminator movies🍿

Geovane Rodrigues

It would be so great to see them watch Jurassic Park. Please let’s do this.

Nicole Herd

Omg even if it doesn't win this round you guys should definitely watch Alien and Aliens. They are both cinematic masterpieces

Ricky

Planet of the Apes is one of my favorite series of movies in recent years

Ricky

Also... where is Star Wars? 👀

Ricky

Monke movies are dope even if they aren't classics

Ricky

They're not objectively better. They are just classics so many people consider them better

Ricky

It's the most recent franchise out of these. Plus the others are mostly loved because they are classics. That doesn't take away anything from the Apes movies

Shellbot

I don't dislike the monkeys I just prefer Dinosaurs and Xenomorphs.

FullMetal B

They are absolutely objectively better. That literally can't be argued lol.

FullMetal B

There are plenty of films that are better as a reaction and just better in general than the godfather. So not a great example at all.

Owen Hargrave

The Godfather is a great reaction if you understand film making or can just appreciate a good film. it’s got some very good shocking moments and if you appreciate how great it is then it’s a good reaction. it’s the greatest film ever for a reason, it’s entertaining and unreal from a technical standpoint. I’d suggest watching The Media Knights react to it, they appreciated how good it is as they know their stuff and also gave a good reaction to the main scenes, it was a great reaction and one of the best I’ve seen on Youtube full stop. Spartan and Pudgey could definitely produce a reaction like that.

Owen Hargrave

you say this also but it’s about letting Spartan and Pudgey watch some good films. They appreciate good stories and acting etc, I’m sure they’d be disappointed if a film lacked them things even if it was entertaining with loads of fight scenes etc. Silence of the Lambs just beat the Spider Verse Films, Spider verse films are far more entertaining but they had to see Silence of the Lambs as it’s a classic. You can’t claim you like watching films without watching The Godfather, so if it goes in the polls and somehow doesn’t win, it’s ludicrous.

Guy-on-Couch

@ Siel sielll you think the first Planet of the Apes is up there with Jurassic Park, Terminator, Aliens, Indiana Jones? Not in this universe

Jeff

Ape together strong

Michael Weiner

Indiana Jones isn’t getting much love. 🙁

Stephen Patrick

I’m sorry, apes over the original terminators or Indians jones??!! I truly believe good taste is dead.

Jamiefishing7

Guys think Cobra Kai will be able to be watched once Karate Kids are..

Jamiefishing7

Ngl Mission Impossible’s are better than half of these imo. My order Karate Kids, Terminators, Jurassic Parks, Aliens, then Mission Impossibles

Jamiefishing7

Yes plssssssss. Spartan would be on the edge of his seat like never seen before. 👏🤩

Jamiefishing7

Trailing thru the comments it’s amazing how many people want Karate Kid movies then Cobra Kai, yet it’s not getting the best in poles. Dang shame.

Hefty517

This might be the first poll where, despite my choice, I’d be happy with any winner. Epic lineup.

Lyn Hurst

Indiana Jones, Aliens, Terminator, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park are all great. I haven't seen the others

Malorie

Whoever is voting for planet of the apes are you ok?

Demo

As a collective, the Planet of the Apes movies are so clearly the best for reactions on this list, why so many complaining? A lot of classics on this list no doubt but I don't need to watch old Terminator and Indiana Jones movies with S&P lmao

Tommy Masters

Spartan, you HAVE TO watch the Karate Kid Trilogy so you can way the epic COBRA KAI series. You don't wanna miss this!

Justin Urameshi

This is a solid list, they gotta get to all of these eventually. Only thing I’d pass up is Karate Kid. I know I’m probably in the minority but the Jackie Chan/ Jaden Smith one is my favorite, and I grew up with the originals. But Jackie acted his ass off in that

Lyn Hurst

That exists lol if it does I am surprised if it doesn't call me gullible because I almost believed it.

Lyn Hurst

I am with you guys. Alien, Terminator, JP, Back to the Future, Indiana I would all love to see.

Lyn Hurst

I think Spartan and Pudgey would enjoy watching the Corleone family.

Lyn Hurst

I am with you. Although I would pass up the apes, Spiderverse and King Kong Godzilla. Some of them are just too stupid.

Lyn Hurst

Well at least JP is only a bit behind the apes. Maybe watch Jurassic Park first (fewer episodes) and then POTA. I will do something else during that time :)

Sarah

I'm not going to try to take anything away from Jackie's performance, but Pat Morita's performance is simply legendary, period. But overall, I have to say, I'm quite surprised that this isn't much higher voted given how the themes align with Spartan's mindset

Jamiefishing7

Just saying, if you guys don’t see Terminator 3 then u miss big things that lead to Salvation being possible.

Jamiefishing7

It’s also current. The new series is halfway thru. Very popular show. Best way would be to put Cobra Kai on a list and if it wins u watch the Karate Kids first. Some people watch Cobra Kai and probably don’t even realise about Karate Kid movies. I grew up with those movies. Amazing!!!

Jamiefishing7

Yea, I’ve seen 2 of them and the really old one too. Not a fan. Doesn’t appeal to me.

Jamiefishing7

Romulus is amazing. Saw it in 4dx recently. Fantastic movie, and I might get hate for this but I like it over any of them. I do like 1-3 tho don’t get me wrong. This one just felt more action and good story.

SuddenImpulse

Star Wars and Mission Impossible are both on "the list" but those are pretty extensive commitments total movie wise, so they will want to make sure they have a proper window to do those properly, and probably want to spread some of these big ones out and not have all of them on one poll since they have to consider longterm. I am quite excited for both. They have seen Matrix, almost certainly not seen godfather. Whether they would like the latter, not sure. They are aware of it, idk if its on the list or not (mod team doesn't see it, we just get told sometimes if something is on there).

Hank Scorpio

You kinda have to watch Terminator 3 if your gonna watch Terminator: Salvation. Which I'm not against personally. I never hated T3, it was far from my favorite but I never thought it was a terrible movie. Also, just a warning, be careful with T2 and which version you watch. There like 3 or 4 different endings to T2 (it's kinda ridiculous) but depending on which version you watch the plots of T3 and Salvation won't even make sense. I beleive the theatrical version of T2 is the right one.

Erin Black

Indiana Jones has 5 movies. I cannot believe "Planet of the Apes" beat "The Karate Kid"...For real.

Hank Scorpio

Agreed, never got the appeal for Karate Kid. I didn't even like it when I was a kid. I could also go without Planet of the Apes tbh.

Hank Scorpio

You seriously putting Planet of the Apes above Indiana Jones and Terminator? These are legendary movies...

Hank Scorpio

Star Wars is a huge universe to get into. They're probably waiting to knock a few of these franchises off before getting deep into that. I mean Star Wars has so many different movies and TV Shows that all tie into the universe.

SuddenImpulse

in my experience there is a wide range of opinions on 2 and 3 and whether they are good or which one is better. Movie series are tricky because few of them remain consistent in quality and theres often a spectrum of opinons on how they compare.

SuddenImpulse

"They don't do that with the other series." No hate on BTTF but they absolutely do. You can even find course itineraries for film departments, film classes and film schools on school websites. JP, Terminator, Alien, BTTF all contributed in major ways to changing landscape of cinema, inspiration and even the way films are made. Not sure where you got that impression. Star Wars and Mission Impossible are two very long movie series so I think they are handling those a bit differently and want to make sure there is a good window they can engage in it properly. Mad Max, Spartan has commented on it before but I don't recall what he said about it. Either way, lots of great movies on this poll, hard to have a bad result from this =)

SuddenImpulse

Spartan, these movies are famous classics, but the Mission Impossible movies are one of the biggest and most successful action movie franchises of all time and with much higher quality consistency than most movie series, and had a major impact on the action-thriller genre., and Tom Cruise does a lot of insane stunts (himself, not a stuntman) in them as well. The original Mission Impossible has had big impact and its why theres 8 movies and a videogame and old tv show for it. It definitely ranks higher than POTA or Karate Kid lol. You should watch them before making a comment like this lol. I truly would be flabbergasted and speechless if you did not enjoy the Mission Impossible films given what I know of you Spartan.

SuddenImpulse

I would love if they implemented blind voting where you can't see the results until the poll creator "closes" the poll. Some people vote differently than they otherwise would because of what the results show. Ranked would also be cool. The patreon poll system is very basic.

SuddenImpulse

Planet of the Apes is officially planned to be 9 movies. " it’s the greatest film ever for a reason," I respect your opinion, and I like the Godfather, and am not opposed to reaction to it, but I've never heard someone say this before, personally. One of the greatest, sure, THE greatest? Then again I don't like giving that title to any movie, I think its too reductionist. Not all movies tackle the same things or have the same style, but I not trying to rain on your feelings on it. =)

Owen Hargrave

didn’t even know tbf. I still separate the 4 now to the trilogy and then of course kingdom. don’t get me wrong I love the films and want to see S&P react to them, it’s just there is so many classics here.

SuddenImpulse

They are classics because they are great movies that stand the test of time and stand out, when dozens of movies come out each year, and are hallmark entries in their respective genres. That or because they had some major impact on the film scene, cultural impact, or on film production in some way. Classics aren't classics just because they are older or due to nostalgia. I will agree that there is a subjective layer to film though, but there are objective components as well. The subjective part is where things start getting kind of messy.

SuddenImpulse

It will come eventually, more about them making sure they can handle the schedule and workload and give it the commitment and focus it deserves since SW is pretty big for most reaction channels.

SuddenImpulse

We can look at potentially including it for the next time this poll comes around. Movie series deliberations can be tricky because they can be kinda up and down. Ultimately up to S&P so no promises but we are taking note a number of people would like it to be added in.

Jamie Neill

I’d agree on them having to watch Karate Kid but I’d say Part 1, poss Part 2 as well trumps Cobra Kai - especially since they have Miyagi. I love them all & the tv show to be fair!

Farbod

I don’t think it’s necessary to watch T3 before salvation. Watching T1 and T2 gives you enough background info to fill in any holes you might miss from T3. T3 really doesn’t add much to the story imo.

Erin Black

I am just stating that there are 5 of them. I didn't say they were good. Just because a person despises something and tries to block it out, does not mean the undesired object, thought, person, etc. does not exist.

Zachary Singa

Guys is it the reboot pota from the 2010s or the original pota from the 60s/70s

Garrett Serbin

Come on ladies & gentlemen... Planet of the Apes, Seriously?? At least Jurassic Park is generational & great movies for reactions

Ryan Rhys Morley

surely back to the future wins this? such a great interesting and wholesome triology to watch and a might better vibe and switch up to the series we’re going through atm

Levo

This poll is hard to choose, can't really go wrong with any but I do hope for Alien & Terminator series at some point.

Julien

There are SIX absolute classic trilogies/series of movies on this list. Films that have been venerated by audiences and critics and award shows for decades. And somehow... Planet of the Apes is the one that wins? My. God.
