Troy Troy Troy!!!

nezudev

I honestly always recommend watching theatrics cuts of movies which is the version everyone fell in love with (lotr included). That said, Good Will Hunting ftw!!!!

Ricky

For Lotr I disagree, but for something like Troy, I suggest the theatrical cut instead.

Jamiefishing7

Braveheart one day will win and I look forward to that day very much! 🤩

Paul

Troy will win one day, maybe, 😂

Kevin Bandy

Troy's not going to win I guess but maybe next time there's a war category. Goodwill Hunting is good. To be clear, I voted for Troy, as I've done every single time it's been an option on these polls.

Kevin Bandy

Braveheart is definitely a must watch and Spartan and Pudgey would both definitely enjoy it.

imperial

Going to keep posting my comment about how BAD the Troy directors cut is. Its one of the WORST directors cuts in all of film making history. ALL of the epic music was replaced with music STOLEN from other movies, including Planet of the Apes. Imagine an EPIC fight scene replaced with music written for a bunch of monkeys swinging from trees.

Paul

What the hell, why would they use music from a different movie 0_o

Louis Melendez

Brad Pitt being a bad ass or Matt Damon being a math nerd 🧐

Storm

I want to see you guys watch Troy, but I’m not sure you necessarily need to watch the directors cut.

SuddenImpulse

I think maybe Troy should be considered switching to theatrical version. Apparently the directors cut changes the original music and its very ill fitting. Apparently the directors cut is not very well liked because of the music change. It may perform better in the polls if its the theatrical version, and it may also be easier for people to access for the uncut viewings.

SuddenImpulse

It depends on the movie. Watching Kingdom of Heaven theatrical cut is a sin. The directors cut is widely considered to be an exceptionally better film. Thats just one example. Sometimes the theatrical version has been hamstrung and interfered with too much by the studio executives.

SuddenImpulse

I think the fact its the directors cut, which reviews worse and is less accessible to people, might be part of its underperformance. This is one of those cases where apparently the theatrical edition is considered superior.

Darrell Henry

One day Troy will see victory.

Guy-on-Couch

That movie ain’t just Matt Damon, I’ll take Robin Williams over Troy….Troy is very good though too

Kevin Bandy

I disagree with how bad the director's cut is. It's different than the theatrical but IMO not worse. And it has more content in it which I thought was good. Both versions are really good IMO.

Kevin Bandy

Both versions are great IMO. A lot less content in the theatrical though.

Kevin Bandy

Either one works for me. Director's cut has a lot more content but probably not a huge deal.

Alex Ocean

Goodwill Hunting all the way 🗣️

Kevin OC

Troy and Goodwill hunting. I WANT THEM BOTH, I NEED THEM BOTH!!!!

Kairos

Good will is a good movie but i think both troy and hacksaw would be more reaction worthy, but I could be forgetting as has been awhile since I watched goodwill

Demo

Troy theatrical version

Mary Robinson-Duncan

My opinion is Hacksaw Ridge because it’s a true story

john

Can troy please win 1 time please :P

ADHDubz

will band of brothers be posted today since it took HOTD spot on sundays?

ADHDubz

oh shoot okay. What days will BOB be posted each week?

Kale

I believe the music change is for the most part during one pivotal scene. If anyone can provide more details without spoiling anything I am curious to see the pros and cons of each version.

Cal

Achilles!!!

Joe

Damn the poll has only been up for a handful of hours and I can already hear S&P saying the top two will be watched 😅

TT

It's very difficult to get a copy of the directors cut, which is my biggest issue here. Cheapest option I found was buying the thing for 10 bucks, which is quite a lot for just watching a movie for one time. Where as the theatrical version is already available on Max, which many of us already have since we follow shows like True Detective on uncuts alongside S&P. So simply for that reason I personally would prefer the theatrical cut.

TT

I'm voting for Troy because it's a sin how much Spartan swoons over Greek warriors and 300 without ever having seen Troy. That being said I think Good Will Hunting is the best movie on the list, so I'm definitely not disappointed if it wins.

Petteri Ahlberg

From this day until my last day, i shall always vote for Goodwill Hunting 🫡

CaleJTT

how is goodwill hunting wining? its such a bad movie lol

Martin

For a lot of people you come out as a different person after watching Good Will Hunting. It changes your perspective on life if you are willing to let yourself be vulnerable, and get immersed in the characters. Sometimes a movie that humbles you is just as good, if not better than one filled with action and hype.

Sasha

Goodwill Hunting is not the type of show I would pick to watch myself just based on the cover and the description of the plot, so I went years without watching it until it was going on on my TV one day as background noise, and I decided to just pay attention, and I ended up loving it. I told myself never to judge a drama or movie by its cover or my bias' again but I still do to this day I just can't help it

Cjay_92

Troy theatrical cut over the directors cut. The music threw me off on the directors cut.

CaleJTT

I don't know when I tried to watch it I didn't even make it half way before I turned it off.

Omar Cornelio

and what movie in your opinion is better than this when it won an Oscar for best original screen play and best supporting actor? Perhaps it was jus to deep for you, and in that case then yeah you would think its bad.

Cody DeCraeke

Also same, always interested based on the actors but never really thought Id enjoy it. It is now my second favorite movie of all time

Pogger White

Hacksaw Ridge is one of my favorites. Please check it out eventually!
