Luis Toscano

wasn’t expecting an edited reaction so soon, thanks y’all

Carrie Smith

The model that Viserys worked on wasn't King's Landing, but Valyria before the Doom. Daeron is Alicent's youngest son with Viserys. He's Jace's age but we didn't see him in season 1 because he was serving in Old Towne as a sqiire at the time of the big 10 year time jump.

I feel like you can’t put Alicent on the same level as Criston. I think they really tried to emphasise that Otto isn’t a good father to Ali. Ali tried to reach out and seek comfort in Otto and tell him her sins, and Otto was just like “IDGAF”. Ali doesn’t know how to comfort her own kids because she never received comfort from her own father. She doesn’t really have anyone she can cry on except Criston. Don’t get me wrong, she’s pretty messed up, but I think she has more depth than Criston who at this point is so one dimensional

Franky E

I’m pretty sure team black’s twin was the one escorting the white worm to the docks, and he was the one she was talking to when she said “one moment” to alert him that team green’s twin was there

Storm

Emma D’Arcy’s face acting in the whole scene where she finds out about Jaehaerys is amazing, so real

Another great episode. This show really make me hyped for GoT which is really weird but I give them credit where credit is due, they've got me with this one. That scene between Daemon and Rhynera was amazing. Lot of subtle stuff and physical acting like Spartan said when he almost grabs her neck. So good, it was a joy to watch. I always knew Matt Smith was great but Emma D'Arcy really impressed me. This is the first role I have seen her in but she is really good. What Daemon said that Viserys made her his hair to put him in his place wasnt unfounded, he did name her the very next day Daemon pissed him off by taking her to a brothel so from his POV it looks exactly like that and only Viserys himself knew how much of that is true. The way Daemon was just sitting there at the council having the time of his life with that stupid grin and the ladies both knowing exactly WTF was going on...not gonna lie, that made me laugh. Again, such good acting. Aegon have no idea that Otto made him king lol, he already had plans in place waiting to be activated long before Viserys died. The kid is a fool but he really loved his son so understandable. Also, he was not prepared for rule, he was made king very quickly and he spent his entire life before that as a useless brat wanking in the window lol I feel like I must mention the actress who plays Haelena, she does an outstanding job with the role, the anxiety, the sudden reactions, changes, her looks sometimes, she is killing it. The fight between the brothers was really good, so much emotion. Rarely see a fight to the death between two absolute chads where the fighting parties talk about how much they love each other lol They came to the world together, and they departed it together. IO I think Ser Erryk killed himself because he lost his brother and also felt ashamed for putting the Queen into such danger. Such a complex situation, I really enjoyed every minute of it. Pudgey rolling her eyes at the end was so funny :)

neutchain

Nah it was a noname soldier mate. He was wearing a different armor ( red ) as well. They would also have walked side by side and had a chat since they knew each other. And Ser Erryk would likele recognize his own brother walking up the same road.

Chris C

Don't think so, this guy had a different armor, and we can see ser Erik (I think) in the castle shortly after

Franky E

Oh right okay. Either way I’m certain its implied that the white worm was still alerting >someone< of the team green twin’s presence, right

Julien

Nah. If this were the case, the twin fight would have happened right there and then.

Julien

Alicent has 4 children. Daeron is the last, and he is being raised at Oldtown with the Hightowers. They never mentioned him in season 1 probably because the show runners hadn't decided if he'd be in the show. Having decided to include him, they clumsily conjured him up via dialog in this episode, to widespread viewer confusion. It's one of those weird things that we're just gonna have to go with. Lol (Halaena also was supposed to have 3 kids at the time of the assassination of Jaeherys, not two.)

neutchain

I was looking for more layers in every scene with Helaena and I found something interesting. The writers did not disappoint. In the previous episode when Aegon was looking for his son to take him to the Small Council meeting, Helaena was sewing ( not sure if that's the correct word for it ) something when she was talking to Aegon and she mentioned the rats. I believe it was that sheet or shroud or idk how its called, but her son's little body was rolled into that thing when they were going to the funeral. I've checked online and it seems others have picked up on it as well. That means she KNEW her son will be killed. Or maybe not exactly that but she felt like she will need that for some reason. It's possible that I am reading too much into it and she just made it for the kid and decided to use it for the funeral. Anyways, I thought it was interesting.

SuddenImpulse

The showrunners said back during season 1 they planned to include him it was more a matter of when because they had changed up some of the timeline etc.

Demo

Team Green all the way. They're just the perfect example of a broken family. Alicent passing down her own futile ideas of duty to Helaena, Aemond and Aegon clearly have hearts but they were never given clear instruction or love from people they needed it from. All the kids were doomed from the start because of the ideas that Otto put in their heads. Team Black on the other hand, the reason why they are going through it is because of the constantly bad decisions they make, Rhynera trusting Damon, Damon having no self control, without the Velaryons , team Black would be in shambles lol Cole is the worst character in the show by far I agree.

Demo

Exactly, the one decent moment with Otto and she immediately gives in to the urge to tell him everything that she's been repressing and he's like "Nah, i'm good". I feel for Alicent completely, everything that she has been paranoid about her whole life is finally happening.

LLCoolT

I read that when she said she was afraid of the rats in that scene, she was also looking and the little boy’s crib. I’d have to rewatch myself, but something I’ll look out for.

neutchain

I always felt like that's allright as long as the original author ( in this case GRRM ) is there to give input. A TV show is a very different medium and not everything works that does in a book. I still consider it canon until GRRM is onboard with it. He was even hyped about some aspects of Season 1, like Paddy Considine's portrayal of King Viserys. In my opinion the best scene in the whole season was him walking from the door to the Throne, dropping his crown and Daemon picking it up for him ( which was improvised ). It added so much to that scene and showed that despite all that happened he really loves his brother. What a powerful scene.

Invisigoth99

“Rhaenyra the Cruel” when she’s arguably the most level-headed and empathetic of all the Targaryens right now 😭 Also good pick up of Daeron, it’s exciting that they’ve finally mentioned him, stay tuned…👀

Demented Avenger

To be fair, Damon is really the only one making crappy decisions. Alicent, Cole, Aegon, and Otto are all making terrible decision.

Aly

I’m in awe that they can get these edited reactions out so fast! Impressive!

Daenerys Targaryen

Spartan, I know you really like the Targaryen theme songs like I do (both in GoT and HotD). What have you thought of the Hightower theme? I've grown to really like it. I also really like Aemond's theme, which is really dark!

DAERON THE MENTIONED

By the way, I don't know if you looked it up already or if somebody explained it: the opening is about the history of the Targs, we see Old Valyria, Daenys the Dreamer, who foresee the events of the Doom, the Doom itself, Aegon and her sister-wives, the burning of Harrenhall, the Stark king who knelt, Maegor the cruel, and the old king Jaehaerys
