I wanted to upload a speedpaint, so people will know about my basic drawing process. Here are the brushes (free) - https://www.patreon.com/posts/ive-recently-my-113298328

Note that this speedpaint is only 1,5 hours long in original and 60% of it is fixing the sketch. Usually it takes 6-8 hours to draw normally if not more depending on the complexity and how much other fixing I need to do. I also use/paste/merge png, jpg textures, patterns, effects and details in the drawings to add complexity or use as a base for rendering (I added a stomach texture so you know how it looks like)

I use photographs, others art, my older art and 3d models for references for entire process - line, colour, render, sketch, detail etc. I never draw without at least some sort of a reference, even if just one

Also, apologies for 1280 quality. I didn't realise that OBS was recording in lower quality and FPS, but the main idea was to show the process

Even though I’ve watched the entire video, even some parts again, it’s still pure magic 😍

Omg, I'm still a super beginner but this is really helpful seeing the process!! This really taught me that I don't need the perfect lineart on the first attempt and to experiment with my art as I go, bless 🙏

K

that was super helpful!! thank you!

Waaaahh! This is so helpful Qiandai-sensei!! I'm glad I'm not the only artist who spends so much time getting the sketch right :D Also, may I ask what the purpose is of the arrows at around the 3-minute mark in the speedpaint?

The sketch depends on what pose I’m drawing and if I’m trying to follow a reference to be fair… I struggled with arm position a lot, haha. The arrows are there to help me learn the correct positions of the reference. I make a basic indication of arm/legs/head etc and see where I need to change the placement and to what direction so it’ll follow the reference more clearly without just tracing over it
