$400 Goal - Interactive Character Biographies + Q&A (Patreon)
Content
So here it is, time to debut the $400 a month reward and what it entails!
I'd be creating interactive character bios in Game Maker Studio, within which using a mouse you can go through a faux database computer and read up on my sci-fi characters.
Each character entry would feature unique artworks, a bunch of lore, backstory information, intricate details and facts you might not know.
To begin with I'll start with Zeta followed by Vira, and keep adding to it when I create more characters to exist in the sci-fi world they inhabit.
This new reward won't be released monthly (It'll take a while to make and be developed alongside the regular Patreon reward and other work), but will be exclusive to Patreon for a month when each character is finished before they're released publically, as well as WIP's posted exclusively to here.
Patrons will also get access to the art files used in the bios, so they can be viewed at your leisure. (I highly reccomend seeing them with context ingame, however!)
Q&A!
Why character biographies?
I love how the Batman Arkham series handles character bios, and love the idea of developing a similar experience where info on my OC's can be learned without the limitations of static biographies.
Why Game Maker Studio?
My knowledge of programming isn't skilled, but I have basic knowledge of GML and Game Maker' programming style, allowing an easier experience at programming a biography so I can focus on creating art assets.
What about the two art piece reward each month?
The goal rewards stack, so if $400 was hit Patrons would still be getting both the monthly Patreon reward images along with these biographies (Once they're finished)
What happens when you run out of characters?
This could eventually happen, however I could move onto my non sci-fi ones (Sugar etc), but this would require an overhaul of the biography style as a futuristic computer might not fit them. (Maybe a book or something like a less futuristic computer?)
If this isn't viable option, I'll come up with a new $400 reward until I can return to doing bios.
Will you stop working on this if you drop below $400?
Not if it drops by a small amount, this happens often with declines/cancels.
If it drops by a very significant amount ($50+ for example), I'd judge on a situational basis whether I'd put it on hiatus or not.
