At the company they work at, they often hire contract/gig workers to test upcoming products or be experimented on for a pretty considerable rate. Most of them end up seeing Camilla, the head of the Research and Development division of the company. 

She says that this experiment is testing "equilibrium of mass in a controlled, pressured environment" or something, but none of us knows what that means or why it's important to know. But we trust Camilla. She's one of the smart ones.
