Wake the fu… Oh, wait… No, that’s another story. Heya! Another month, another release – let’s see what’s will be in focus for the next month.

Let’s start with Yorna. Initially, I thought January will be the last update for it, but it may not be so. The artists who got the commission for one of the H scenes caught a cold. With COVID still going she’s taking this situation with extra care. Thus, I will be looking at other opportunities to pass this H art to another available artists. To sum it all up, either the next update will have 2 new H scenes, or we’ll have to split them between 2 updates. Either way, we’ll make both.

A small info bit for players who are interested in getting or already got the game in Steam. I’m working on returning to Steam’s store. At the moment, Valve runs standard checks on game’s shop page and builds. The current release window is either the end of December or the early January. This will depend on the time Steam will require to run all the checks.

I mentioned this already on Yorna’s community hub in the Steam, but I guess it doesn’t hurt to double it up here. If you already got the previous version of Yorna, you don’t need to re-acquire the new version. These will be identical content-wise since I will update the previous Yorna up to the final build. So, don’t fret – you’ll get all the goodies.

Now, let’s talk about the new project – MonGirl (s)Expedition. It’s still a work-in-progress name though :P Can’t decide on the final one yet… Either way, most of the core mechanics are in and working fine and I’m focused on adding new content to the game.

What will be in on the release content-wise? A set of starting zones, 5 girls to chase after and conquer and all the main functions. Some extra features will also be available with the first version. For example, the expedition will have simple frame-swap animations for H scenes. Ouroboros showed me that players either loved the animation or wanted the static frames only. The new game has an option to switch between animated and static versions of the H action.

The journal is here to replace the old hint menu. This time, it will have all the quests you found and completed with detailed step-by-step instruction on what players need to do. Plus, there will be text highlights for those who hate reading. Some players were uncomfortable with how Yorna handled such tips – this time it will be easier to follow and use.

I’m playing with an idea of making a “skin” system for the game. Most likely it will not be present at the start and will be added later, since the workload on the artists is pretty big already. With skins, you will be able to customize how the girls will look in the game to suit your tastes. The change most likely will not affect the H scenes, but it’s possible to make H scenes tailored especially for the skins. We’ll see.

Also, you’ll see a night and day cycle that will affect the available characters, their actions and possible events. Let’s see how you’ll like this change from the static Yorna’s time.

Aside from this, there will be simple minigames and puzzles. I’m thinking about adding hints to the puzzles to help players solve them on their own instead of going into the net for a solution.

So, I’ll try my best to cram a nice chunk of content into the first release – this is my focus for the upcoming month. Plus, polishing and play-testing of course. Nobody likes bugs and hiccups.

The estimated release time didn’t change. I plan to roll out the first version of MonGirl Expedition in January 2021. Yet we are in the middle of the COVID outbreak and artists or I aren’t immune. Either way, stay tuned for updates and have a nice day!
