Weekly report (Patreon)

After the last Yorna release, I’ve fully switched my attention to Ouroboros. I’m still fiddling with some mechanics like hacking to catch the balance point between difficulty and frustration. Plus, there’s a lot of balancing work to do but I think it will be ready for the next usual release time. If it won’t be ready at the moment or within a week from it, I’ll pause the Patreon until the point where I can properly release the initial version.

The second H scene is already in production while I’m still polishing the first one. The main action is already in but I want to make the motions more alive with small changes between the cycling animation. Sound effect support is already in and tested out - works great compared to Yorna’s static sound support with 2 channels.

Plugin and other support logic is almost done, about 90%. Just need to playtest interactive scenarios and use the rest of the time to prepare the game for the big opening. Unlike Yorna, Ouro will have a bigger emphasis on the plot and I’m trying to my best to plan each release so it will be interesting.

A bit concerned about animated scene previews. At the moment, I simply can’t showcase a motion on the Patreon properly because gifs lose a lot of quality and posting a video file is the best compromise I could found. Still, there will be people who only check the header and they won’t be impressed…

Also, Patreon’s rules about showing H material on the main page is a pain in the rear. Most likely, after the release, I’ll post links to other blogs like Itch and GameJolt so everyone could check the graphics and animation quality, It’s not very convenient yet I don’t know how to circumvent the problem differently. 

Patreon’s Vimeo integration doesn’t allow H content just like Youtube and linking from other hostings like Pornhub doesn’t work at all. looks like I’ll need to contact Petreon about this issue since looks like it won’t be solvable by me alone.
