Hello.
It took me a lot of thinking and hesitating, but in the end, I decided that trying to make a new project as well as maintaining monthly updates for the current one is too much for me.

So, starting from today, this page goes from monthly payments to payments per major updates for Succulence. After Succulence 2 is officially out, it will become the main project and updates for Succulence will be released for free.

I wanted to delay my decision on this matter until March update is out, but after spending last two days almost sleep-less and constantly working I realised that this is not the way I should handle these things, and I'll just end up exhausting myself if I continue.

New format has it's pros and cons, the pros being:
- I can organise my work better
- I can finish everything I promised in the monthly schedule, and announce the release date after that
- I can time my releases closer to weekends
- I have more time to test things and fix bugs before release(though it's impossible to find them all -__-)

Cons:
- There's no concrete release date
- Releases will take longer than a month

It also means March update will be delayed by at least a week

Monthly schedule will now serve as a live "progress bar" post, and I'll add checkmarks to things that have been done, so by checking that you'll be able to judge how close next release date is. And of course, weekend updates will continue as usual.

So yeah, it's a big change in the pace, but it was needed. Despite all the above, it's possible that I'll return to regular monthly updates once I'm done updating Succulence(assuming sequel will be out at that time).

I'm sorry to everyone who was looking forward to the release at the end of March, I will make sure to include some bonuses in it as a consolation

I'll be taking a break from developing Succulence until Friday, and will tamper with some outfits for the sequel instead to clear my head a little bit(I'll present a few samples on the next Friday preview).

That's it for today, I'll see you on Friday.
Cheers.

I voted disapprove because I think you should do that but stick to monthly payments. You're doing good work and we've seen how passionnate and honest you are, it's fine if you work a little less, I'm sure most people here would be ok with that.

I appreciate the thought, but I'd rather do it right. Not to mention that I'm still capable in making monthly releases, if the time allows it. It's just that payment mechanism is different, essentially.

What you want to change in format? explain plz exactly , what you want change ( program or diferent version?

Game releases will remain the same, I just changed the method by which patrons get charged, because current release will take longer than a month to make.

I can tell you of a few people that are making games and I see updates from them like 6-8 times a year. Some don't even post anything at all for months *cough* "Posting crap news" *cough* (you know who you are! lol) But seriously I never tried to hold you to any specific deadline, you are a developer that keeps us in the loop with stuff going on, and if you had an issue, you would let us know. Honesty goes a long way, and hopefully people understand. There was one point after you came back that I thought you should go to a 6 week approach rather than monthly, and not once did I ever think you didn't deserve my money every month regardless.

I disapprove as well, at least for one or two month. You always delivered, even it was a few days delay. So at least for one or two month more you could leave it as it is, then switch to another charging. If you look on other games developers they sometimes don't have updates for month and they charge every month. you could stop charging after the last update with content, leaving the game only on updates maybe specials or bugfixes for free. Then you could start charging again at the beginning of the new succulence 2. btw you give us teasers as well with pictures, so its a good thing if you get "paid" for that work as well. And there is the possibility to pause the charging as well, if you really see that you won't get done anything for a month or two. guess many would pay even if you say you only can get something in 6 weeks or more. But its up to you. Cheers

[R]Nest, you're doing superior work. Just don't burn yourself out. :) I'm fine with however you handle this.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. It's true, essentially this change is me pausing the page for a month because I failed to deliver the update in time. It will probably be a temporary thing until Succulence 2 demo is out and most of the side stories(and the true ending) are finished in Succulence.

dude, you are far most important than the project. Great to hear this news.
