Today I accidentally found a tutorial on how to extend default sprites for my new editor. And I couldn't resist the opportunity to try and make a taller woman sprite using it, since it allows for more details, and it fits a little better into the environment, etc.
The only problem is that, it took me 7. Hours. to make one(looking down) side of the character because I'm a hopeless noob. And that's without adjusting outfits, hairs and coloring.

While I shamelessly admit that I had a total blast drawing this pixelated body, I am not sure if it will be worth it. So I'll leave this in your hands.

Which character sprites should I use in the Succulence 2?(I might leave men sprites alone if female ones will take too much time)

P.S. I'm sure I'll get better at them, eventually.....

Update: After spending almost entire Sunday playing around with the pixels, I finally made a full tall sprite of Serena. Adding clothes on the figure is a bit difficult, but hair and eyes are pretty easy. I won't be working on male sprite just yet, but it shouldn't be hard, since I don't need to draw jiggling breasts on them.

I've seen a few games where Creators took the sprites and made different heights and shapes for adult, teenagers and kids. While it was ok, I didn't think it made the game any better. It did make the game stand out a bit more, but if you are going to take hours to adjust them and then more hours to adjust outfits and whatnot. I do not think it's worth the effort, especially for a game that you look like you are making with "existing" assets. In my Opinion, a game made with mostly existing assets (because you already made them) would allow you to make more content, or at the very least get the game finished faster because you have less work to do. To have to go in and edit those existing assets takes away from the advantage you have given yourself.

While some stuff in the environment does look the same, I've had to resize and edit a lot of it, because new engine has a different resolution, so yeah, there's plenty of work required regardless. I do agree that I shouldn't focus too much on this kind of thing though, so what I'll do is I'll make a tall sprite for Serena and every side character that will have a standing image, and will leave it at that for the demo. The npc's and passerby aren't the priority, so I will update them only if needed. Also it's very trivial to make the "current" looking sprites, so I will have no problem making crowds of people at least.

I would make her waist a little bit thinner on the new longer miniature in frontal and rear view..

I tried to, but it looks worse that way. I'll probably revisit these sprites once I'll get better at editing them.
