Important Update (Patreon)

(I wrote this for Scribblehub mainly, so ignore the stuff about the short story which you guys have already been told about.)

Hey friends, checking in with some progress about various things as well as a minor announcement.

First, I want everyone to know I'm feeling better about working on Rise of the Guild Master, and will probably get back to it by the end of the month. This doesn't count the volume one edits, which I'm still going to work on this month. I still want to work on all the lore documents that I mentioned wanting to do, but the main thing that made me freeze up on the main story was that editing made me realize how many retcons and rewrites and things need to be done to make me happy with the story.

Considering that volume one contains up to only Zutiria’s first appearance, it freaked me out that beyond that there are currently 250 chapters in need of equal editing and rewriting before I’ll be ever happy with them. Plus, if I release volume one and get a huge crowd of new Amazon readers who want me to release a volume two, I’m afraid I’d be pressured to do that instead of new chapters.

Part of me almost doesn’t even want to do a volume release since I could get income by starting to release short stories/spin-off books on Kindle Unlimited and they would all link to RotGM and be in the same setting. Then I’d just slowly rewrite chapters at my own pace like I used to, between other projects. RotGM is supposed to be a gigantic epic that takes me years and years and years to complete, so doing huge rewrites as I go like I just did is bleh.

And then I don’t really want to do tons of editing again just for a volume release, because if I do volume one and don’t feel like doing enough rewrites for a volume two until like a year later then that’d just feel super crappy.

I dunno, man. I’ll likely still put out volume one and just mention in the author’s notes how putting out a volume two is not my priority and won’t be for a good while while explaining some of this.

Backing up a bit on the topic of short stories, I’ve actually been working on an exciting one! (Sidenote, the Orc story is still in development.)

My patrons have already had access to several work in progress drafts, and it’s currently 7,000 words and still has a lot to go. This was started as an experiment to loosen me up after having a rough few days where I didn’t feel like doing much writing, and I’m having a lot of fun with it. It has the potential to expand into an ongoing series of light-hearted short stories, which could eventually be collected into a volume.

The basic premise is that the protagonist is a quiet, awkward, half-elf adventurer who works out of the Cransmere Adventurer’s Guild. He’s a pastiche of Link, his quiet nature a reference to Link’s role as a silent protagonist. He’s also very simple and admittedly a little dumb, but he owns it and accepts himself for who he is.

After a short adventure segment, he ends up earning the attention of a sexy and adorable fairy living in the Gnarled Woods who wants to become his partner. Not being very good with girls, he tries to turn her down at first but one thing leads to another and the fairy ends up working on his apprehension towards the opposite sex the old-fashioned way.

Thus, she becomes his partner and in public, she hides in his hat. She essentially becomes his brain, helping him solve puzzles and providing heals and other support spells.

Her other main interest is in helping his sex life, because she finds out that basically half of the town’s womenfolk are into this cute half-elf semi-shota boy and he’s too oblivious to have ever noticed until she outright points it out to him on a case by case basis.

It’d have a minor corruption angle to it, as he starts off pretty innocent, but starts to really, really want sex.

Rise of the Guild Master is primarily male-dom with occasional femdom scenes, this would be the opposite. Nothing ‘extreme’ since I hate pegging and most hardcore femdom junk, but I need an outlet to write this kind of stuff. Like I said though, his corruption would lead to times where he gets really into it and takes control.

It wouldn’t have much of an ongoing plotline, just fun scenarios to have fun sexy times with a growing cast of girls.

Random ideas of girls he might haremize,

- An older Gyaru girl at his guild, of undetermined class. Maybe like barbarian or something to make fun of the idea of a fashion-focused barbarian

- His overworked, stressed, meek Guild Mistress who needs to chill out

- A mage who finds out he has a fairy and wants to steal her for alchemical reasons

- A very unsubtle widowed milf who runs the local item shop, giving him special discounts and always showing cleavage whenever he enters her store

- Some sort of peasant girl who is smol and keeps posting quests for him just so they can hang out

I could release them on Kindle Unlimited, and when there’s enough to collect them in a volume I could do so and throw in a couple of exclusive bonus chapters. We’d see how that goes, for now, I’m just writing the short story because it’s fun.

Lastly, I have an announcement to make but I can’t share that much.

I made friends with the creator of a fairly popular Choose Your Own Adventure porn game. It’s not TiTs, before anyone gets the wrong idea lmao. I’ll be doing some paid scenes here and there for his game, as well as doing editorial work for the creator.

This does not get in the way of my normal work, since I edit so late at night that I wouldn’t be writing anyway, and as for my scenes, it’s a VERY easy style to write in. You guys know that I can shit out two to five thousand words a day when I want to, and scenes in his game are fairly short. I’ve been putting in a few hundred words here and there between my own stuff.

We’ve become friends, though, and once my first scene is in the game he’s going to point all his fanbase at my Patreon and Rise of the Guild Master, so it’s something I’m really excited about!

I’ll make a more formal announcement on the 8th which is when the update with my writing in it is planned to hit.

So, yeah. I’ve been busy, and I hope you guys will continue to be patient with me. It won’t be much longer until I’m back to working on the main story.
