Samus Returns (Patreon)

Today marks the release of the first "real" Metroid game in around a decade, I believe. I've been very much awaiting this. I'm a gigantic fan of Metroid and have deeply missed Samus... But she's back. And next year, she'll be back for Metroid Prime 4. I'm doing what I can to raise the hype on my side! At least I have more than enough time to finish the entire Prime Trilogy before it comes out next year.

The game is really great in all honesty, and the only flaw that comes to mind right away is what was carried over from the original. There's a slight annoyance you get from having to fight the same Metroid fights repeatedly, but at least they added some new attacks to the mix so they aren't all the same. But seriously, this game is everything you'd want from a 2D Metroid game and it really sells the atmosphere of being on an Alien world. Sure, lots of set pieces have been done in other Metroid games, but since this is more of a return to form I'm willing to overlook that. I just don't want Samus to fade away in obscurity... I love her so much
