It was just a few months since the first outbreak, the cure was just a far-fetched concept, you got vaccinated with an experimental vaccine like most of the population, it wasn’t 100% reliable and people kept shrinking.

It was Sunday, the first time you went out after a long lockdown because of the pandemic, you went to a local park with your wife, after a short stroll she ran and stepped on something, you heard a loud *CRACK* and then she started laughing.

“Honey, what was that?” You asked, confused.

“Look”, she raised her leg and pointed at her shoe.

Something was crushed there, you bent to take a closer look, then you gasped in fear and took a step back, “It’s.. it’s a kid, oh my god, he caught the shrinking virus, what have you done?”

Her smile stayed on her face, “well, it’s not really a kid, once they shrink they are practically bugs, lol did you hear that crack sound?”

“What? No, that’s not true, they are just the same, just smaller”, tears started filling your eyes, you felt so bad for him, your wife just murdered a little kid just in front of your eyes and she doesn’t even care.

“Hahaha, sounds like a bug to me, he tried to escape, so funny”, she finally lowered her leg back to the ground, you heard another crack sound, she was still smiling.

“You realize I could also catch the shrinking virus? Will you think I’m a bug if that happens?”

She started laughing, “well, duh, but I won’t crush you with a shoe like that”.

“I’ll do it barefoot!” She added and started laughing loudly, hitting your back, “so you better not catch it near me if you don’t want to end like that piece of gum beneath my shoe”, she said and kept walking.

You froze in terror, watching at her stepping away, leaving blood marks on the ground, you never knew your wife had such a dark cruel side in her.
