It's been two full months now since we decided to expand this Patreon and offer more to everyone for their support.

On our end, we feel like it's been quite a challenge to implement all of the changes but it has been very rewarding to see the positive feedback from everyone. However, we've also noticed that our Patron count has been steadily dropping.

According to our exit surveys, 99% of people are cancelling their Patronage for financial reasons. While there's nothing we can really do about that, we are wondering if anyone has any input or suggestions that could improve this experience for everyone. After the drop in YouTube revenue, we are relying more and more on this Patreon to keep us afloat and, if things continue as they are... Well, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

We have always said that transparency between us and our audience is incredibly important so we wanted to share these concerns with you. We also want everyone to know that there is absolutely still no obligation to support us if you are unable to. Times are tough at the moment for everyone.

But if we want Patreon to be a viable solution to keeping our content coming, then we need to explore every avenue. If people are leaving because their investment isn't feeling worthwhile, then we'd like to know so we can work on that.

We hope everyone is well and, as always, we're extremely grateful for everyone here. I know it's said a lot but we all love making videos and you all allow us to keep doing it so thank you =)

For the most part, I started supporting the channel for the creative direction and the entertainment I got from classic fact fiend style videos. From wiki weekends focused on a topic or character to the larger sectioned videos about an interesting story most people have never heard of. ------- Plenty of videos followed a simple format In the past and was easy to get sucked into a rabbit hole of random information that is so obscure or wildly entertaining to hear. as a viewer it feels like listening in on a crazy conversation a friend is having and you want to hear more, so keeping it in the format of telling an informal story was incredibly effective in keeping my attention for extended periods of time and getting me through slow work days. --------- To me, the channel(s) feel like a work of art for each post and should be great to do. if I had any legitimate suggestions to improve upon the benefits, it would be to find a balance and don't become too spread thin, narrow in on a few formats of videos and perfect them, then keep what you want and only introduce a few new things at once so viewers know what to expect of the video style, not the content as it will always be different and intriguing. Patrons should feel like they're supporting a creator and not demanding benefits. -------- I honestly love the new content and videos being released, though I'm not nearly as up to date as I should be, so take any thoughts with a grain (o r entire shaker) of salt ------- Cheers, best wishes in all of the endeavors ahead!

Same as I've seen in other comments here, I joined Patreon to try to support y'all so you can keep making videos. I'm sorry to admit I haven't really utilized Patreon to its fullest and haven't been keeping up with y'all's page here. That being said, I am thankful for all you do.
