Some Patron's Payments are being Marked as Fraud (Patreon)

Patreon has ackowledged the issue but still hasn't confirmed if they'll retry your payment automatically if it's flagged as fraud. Please check your payment to see if you're having the same trouble, thank you.

This is a notification to some of my patrons (It could be you so please read!!) that after the payment charge on 8/1, there's an abnormal amount of payments flagged as "fraudulent".

It doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong. In fact, there are rumors (which I can't confirm) that it's because Patreon has moved their HQ from California to Dublin, and thus charges US patrons as international charge instead of domestic charge. Therefore your bank blocked the payment.

Being flagged as fraud isn't the same as regular payment decline, as Patreon won't automatically retry your payment throughout the month.

While it's giving all content creators a headache, Patreon being silent about this doesn't help much clarify the issue either.

And the worst of all is that, there's no method for the patrons to know if their payment is either declined or being flagged as fraud. Therefore I'll be sending you an individual Patreon message & an e-mail to help you be aware of the issue.

Currently the best solution for it is to either contact your bank and notify them that patreon's payment charge is safe to go through, or change your payment method to paypal, payoneer or other credit cards.

I'm sorry this happened, I'll at least try my best to let you know the issue.
