OMG, I remeber the first time I watched this episode! I'm almost 50 years old now and I was in my 20s getting ready for my first date with a girl I asked out who I saw in a window of the daycare. I was so sad when I saw this episode but had so much fun on my first date, I ended up marrying this girl who has been my wife for over 24 years and I still think about the first time we met and how sad I was that night becasue of Zoro and Kuina's promise but my date made me smile and laugh at dinner where I forgot about the sadness I felt. This brings back happy memories of my wife and One Piece watching with you guys today!

About kuina,a big part of the community thinks that she actually committed suicide. It was too heavy of a subject for a child (zoro) to know the truth(+ suicide was something thay happened often in japan during the time that zoro’s backstory was revealed. Another big part of the community thinks that she’s not actually dead

I’ve heard many people talk about how the importance of kuinas death to zoro because she died so pointlessly by falling down stairs. Because people can die at anytime time for no reason so he must fight to the death at all times.
