I am so happy with how this episode ended, but it was quite a tough watch at that first party. 😅 there was literally no reason for Emily to behave in the way she did but I'm happy she ended up going to the party at their house. I think that was a MASSIVE step forward for the relationships between them all and hopefully things start turning around from here. Paris also seems to maybe be warming up a bit which is lovely to see! don't even get me started on that ending scene 🩶

This is one of my favorite episodes of the series. I enjoy getting to really see the dynamics between the women. Most people assume that the title only refers to Lorelai and Rory, but in my opinion, it's Emily as well. All three generations of "Gilmore Girls". I may have my romantic ships on this show, but for me the greatest relationships to watch are between those three.

I think it’s really important to remember that Emily and Richard come from a very different life compared to Lorelai and Rory. They come from a social class where big parties and ensuring you greet and talk to every single guest, etc is expected so they feel shame and embarrassment when people don’t go with their norm. Does it excuse their behavior? No, of course not. But I do think it helps to understand some of their behavior at times.

oh no I totally see that that is what they are used to. and I think it's fine that they expected her to do that, but when she lashed out in the way she did the way Emily acted is so unacceptable and childish. sure, Rory was childish as well, but she is an actual child. a grandmother has no business acting like that even a little bit. kids are going to lash out, especially in a situation like that, that she was pushed into. just a wild situation I think 🩶

oooh I can't wait to see the relationships grow for sure and you make a great point! Emily is a Gilmore girl so it does make sense that she would be included in that as well! 🩶

Oh it’s definitely a wild situation and I would’ve lashed out as well if my grandparents put me in a situation like that. I don’t always agree with the way Richard and Emily behave, I sometimes have to remind myself that they come from a very different generation where any kind of lashing out would most likely be met with physical punishment. It honestly took me awhile to warm up to Emily in particular but I think as she show goes on you begin to see why she acts the way she does at times (though maybe not always in a justifiable way) but that’s what I love about this show, all the characters are flawed in some way.
