If you haven't been on my Facebook group lately, then you may not have heard about my recent issue with the translators for Nox from English to French.

Luckily I have some wonderful French readers out there who saved me embarrassment by looking at the manuscript after translations and found that the translators had basically sent garbage, that appears to have been patched together from translations from software translations and their very, very, very bad French and obvious inability to read English.

I have most of my money back, but I doubt I will see the last bit.

Anyhow, if you know of anyone who is waiting for this book, please let them know that it will be late. I have it with another translator now and have generous beta readers who will go over it to help point out any issues so they can be fixed.

I know there are crooks out there. So bad translators do not surprise me. However, what does shock me is that this translator has been used by other writers.

I'm not sure what happened this time around. Or, it could be that the others just weren't lucky enough to have people catch the issues.

And these were not small issues. This was horrific translation errors to the point of literal gibberish.

What upset me most is to have these translators tell me over and over there was nothing wrong with it and how I didn't speak French. The fact I had THREE different native French people who speak and or teach English and one who writes and reads French see from page one it was horrifically done, seemed to mean nothing.

I was quite basically told "why waste more time, just publish it" by the translator.

After being four months late on the MS delivery, then this. Now that it's Friday and I hope the following weeks will be better.
