Hello!

This month I've finally launched Light Fairytale Episode 1 on Steam!

Actually 2 weeks ahead of schedule - on the 13 May 2019. Exactly 6 months after the early access launch!

Here's the Steam page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/539330

Thanks for answering the pricing poll!

In the end I've decided to keep the early access price. I think it is a fair price for the content and value.

The game did OK so far in term of revenues - in the lower end of my expectations though.

Unfortunately, the project is still not profitable - currently I got around 62% of my invested budget back - but I hope it will become profitable after a few sales on Steam  and the launch on consoles.

Speaking of which, I've started porting Light Fairytale to the Xbox One!

I'm currently waiting for Microsoft to setup the Xbox Live features, but the core of the game is already fully playable and looking great!

Working on this port I've implemented 2 new graphic techs:

  • Native resolution for the UI / 2D elements: The text and portraits will still look super sharp even if the internal resolution is low.
  • Horizontal resolution (HR): Setting it to 75% results in a huge performance boost and still look great.

So, I'm targeting 1080p 30fps at 75% HR for the old Xbox One, and either 1440p 60fps or 4K 30fps for the Xbox One X - also at 75% HR.

Here's a direct capture of the game running on the old Xbox One - available in full-res in the attachments bellow.

These new features are actually a big deal: The Nintendo Switch port should now be possible!

I was afraid of the text not being readable on the Switch in portable mode when running in low-res, but now the text / UI should look super sharp and totally readable!

These features will also help with low-specs PCs such as the GPD Win2 handheld. Coming on the next patch on Steam!

Bonus, here's a 1440p wallpaper from the Anime theme-song of Light Fairytale - often compared to the famous Windows XP wallpaper! You can download the full resolution version in the attachments bellow.

And that's it!

Again, thank you for your support. See you next time!

After I moved from Nintendo do to crummy games I first went to Xbox. Played Final Fantasy to 100% (no small feat), but when I played it again on PS3 I was hooked astounded how much better it was. I ended up playing it again to 100% and then stayed on PlayStation never going back to Xbox. But to each it's own right?

I will support the PS4. I've sent the concept to Sony and they've accepted it, I just need to port it now. I prefer working on the Xbox One version first as it is easier for me, I'll work on the PS4 version just after that!
