I read the books for the first time recently. They were definitely way better than the movies. Also they didn't mention it in the movies but in the books Tonks and Remus make Harry their sons godfather

I tear up everytime during the scene where the trio runs through the courtyard, they encounter a troll (sorcerers stone) , the spiders (chamber of secrets) and then the gang of dementors(prisoner of Azkaban). It was such a well done call back/Easter egg. Also Ginny and Harry were very ew, even though she’s a completely different character in the books, I would have loved to see Harry and Luna together. The reboot is going to follow the original story, but they’ll dedicate one season to each book, 7 years , 7 seasons.

Harry Potter theory on YouTube goes through all the book to movie changes in detail. Definitely worth checking out if you’re not going to read the books
