I have a theory that I call “The Pizza Theory”. It is my belief that if you have 10 people in a room together and ask them what pizza they want, you’ll probably get ten different answers. Some people prefer pepperoni. Some people prefer cheese. Some people prefer meat lovers. My point is that we all have different tastes. We might try something for the first time and we’re either going to like it or not. Amber and Jay are at least willing to give movies and songs a try and sometimes they’re going to like some more than others. We all have different tastes. It doesn’t make us wrong. And now I’m craving pizza for some reason. 😉

I think there's been a mix up! When I said you guys gotta see the full Monty, I meant you should watch the 1997 British comedy named “The Full Monty”. Instead, it seems you watched the Monty Python film where we get a full frontal of Graham Chapman's... er... full Monty. I can see how you mighta gotten confused. 😉 I think an adequate descriptor you're looking for to catagorize the Monty Python style of comedy might be “absurdist”. They just come out of left field and often get a bit surreal. I think Jay has the right idea, and you just gotta lean into it and resign yourself to the absurdity of it all. I think perhaps the gags and sketches were better in The Holy Grail, but on the other hand, I think this movie actually manages to come up with a real narrative with a plot that matters. Some scathing satire too about people who like to talk about problems but would rather feel important passing resolutions and making grand speeches than actually doing anything about it. Oh, and the detour into outter space? This movie came out just two years after Star Wars, and everyone but everyone was trying to cash in on the craze. Imitators and cheap knockoffs filled the theaters in the years that followed. I think that gag was very much of it's time and a jab at that whole phenomenon of every movie assuming a little sci-fi action would lead to box office gold. If you'd like to see some of the Python crew outside of Monty Python, it may be worth checking out the comedy “A Fish Called Wanda” (1988) with John Cleese and Michael Palin starring opposite the great Jamie Lee Curtis. Also, since I did mention The Full Monty, it's still not too late to be the first people on YouTube to react to that comedy gem. Nominated for a Best Picture Oscar, adapted into a Broadway musical , and despite being about everyday blokes becoming male strippers, less full frontal nudity to edit around than this movie. Also, some great opportunities for some music channel tie-ins.
