The best miniseries w similar qualities and outstanding writing, acting is the WWII show, "The Band Of Brothers," miniseries. Tom Hanks & Spielberg made it. I think it's the best thing ever created on television.

Some guy made a video about the final battle, about the army composition etc and how they would fare against the Roman Legions. So, Mordor vs Roman Empire. IIRC the conclusion was pretty much: "Yea no, the Romans will smoke them because they can and have dealt with everything Mordor has, except for flying dragons. Elephants, Shocktroops, siege weapons.. old news!"
