Quick background: The Go'auld is an alien race of parasites that inhabit the bodies of other intelligent beings. Many thousands of years ago they took a liking to humans as hosts because they found our bodies easy to repair. That's why the descendants of humans taken from Earth are found on many worlds connected to the Stargate network. Most are still primitive but some have advanced to very high technology, like the Lucian Alliance.
