Last week was a little more pure science fiction, this week leans more towards character drama. The exploration of the stones usage is interesting. To answer your question about residual memories. They have sorta explored this idea in a different, more comedic way before. Two individuals, unwittingly connected over many years sharing each others experiences. This was handled in the manner of visions. Seemingly it wrecked one if their lives. The other comedically passed it off as a charming glimpse of another life. But one was a Air Force colonel battling Aliens and the other was a barber. 🤣 An unknowing risk of sitting in the chair, is that the knowledge from the Ancients, has been known go take control of a person's actions. Previously only a sufficiently evolved human might be able to handle it for a short time before it eventually overwhelms and kills them. They might have to hypothetically sacrifice a few people before finding the one that will give the time needed. The thought is that this is a previous technology, but obviously untested, there's no way to know. It's an interesting debate all the same.
