The thing about the ending of this is that unlike the "dream ending" like you said where it doesn't matter, in this case it did matter. Yes they were in the land between life and death, but they were fighting for their lives still. When they lost the game and died, that is when they didn't come back to life from their heart stopping, meaning their were consequences imo. That being said I can understand if some people might not like it as much as I did, but I'm more of a "the journey is more important" kinda person. I do believe though there is more to the whole situation in the manga, but I'm not sure how much as I've never read it. I've heard the connection with the Joker they hint at the end is more in depth. I think one of my favorite details I learned about after watching was the fact that the laser that comes down and kills the player, is actually a representation of the flatline of their heartbeat showing they're fully dead in the real world. Anyway I really enjoyed your reactions for this series!
