I LOVE YOU, TOMMY BROWN

It is so refreshing to see this be taken so seriously in a show. An adult woman "dating" a teenage boy. Like, what they all said at the end there about if it'd been a man they never would've gotten out and all that and the whole attractiveness thing too, that's all true. But I love that it was clearly taken very seriously by those around Tommy. Julie outright called it rape and it's just such a relief to me. The amount of shows I have watched where it's either romanticised or just swept under the rug as no big deal is insane, and that's one of the reasons I love Criminal Minds. It was acknowledged that this woman was AWFUL. They called it what it was. None of the characters were put off by the fact that she was a pretty woman. There was no victim blaming of any kind. The only people who seemed to think there was anything okay with what was going on was the Predator and the Victim. And by the end, it looked like Tommy was going to hopefully start healing and realise that it wasn't okay. But his parents weren't okay with it, his friends weren't okay with it, his teachers and classmates weren't. And despite the fact that she got out WAY before she should've and wasn't given the sentence she should've been given, she DID still go to Prison and did have to pay for the crime she committed. And she even had another victim. They didn't try to paint it as a one time thing because she was just so in love with Tommy and he was this exception and special. No. He was just another victim of hers. I'm just sick of shows not taking female on male statutory rape seriously. (Or just female on male rape of any kind...) So it's just refreshing to see shows take it seriously and this episode did.
