LANTERN

EDIT: omg it just occurred to me. what if its not jimmy who triggered chuck, but it was the guilt he felt after telling his brother that he never cared about him? watching the scene again and then the one where he is writing on the book, chuck stops writing when he is meant to describe his emotional state. Also added to the fact that howard pretty much told him that he is no longer wanted or needed and that he'd rather go broke himself than to deal with him again.

We had to wait like a year to find out what happened next.

It turns out if someone hates you enough, they'll save your life..so that they can keep torturing you. That stings every time I hear Chuck tell Jimmy he never mattered to him. I don't think it's true though. Chuck cares for him, despite his unhealthy jealousy and obsession with keeping him away from the law. I also don't think he would have said that if he wasn't just forced to retire. His relapse has much to do with that since his improvement was largely due to being able to focus on work and keep his mind off Jimmy. But then Jimmy could've helped him get real treatment much earlier, and he was the one who just informed the insurance carrier of his sickness.
