Remember how Reid acted when he thought his father had killed a child? He became very single-minded and refused to see any other potential because he was ruled by hurt in that moment. So I actually liked how they handled Reids feelings in this episode even if he was wrong. JJ is probably the one Reid has been closest to in the team. A twenty year old started working with the most horrible murders and his only emotional protection being the BAU (because we know therapy sessions is a rare thing by now). They became his much needed family figures and stability. And then one of his most trusted person is forced to leave and then forced to lie to him about anothers death. Its not JJs fault, but I feel like its in his character to act out against her in this moment. Just like it was in his character to act out on Emily when he was dealing with the aftermath of Tobias. Or how he lied to the team and put his life on the line for a teenage outcast he related to. Reid is really smart and logical most of the time, but he is also a bit of an emotional mess.

I never cared much for Seaver’s character though. I know it wasn’t the actress’s fault but I hate how they brought her in as AJ’s replacement. I’m just glad that the producers listened to their fandoms and brought Paget and AJ back.

Honestly, it needs to be sad. JJ and Reid got one of my favorite relationships in all of tv shows. Their chemistry is always top tier and any episode with them two on the field is amazing. I’m so glad some people came to their senses and got their JJ and Emily back. It just wasn’t the same without them.
