can't say much and go into details when it comes to this episode, leaves me broken every time, what i can say is how much i dislike Elijah's character. i remember when i first started watching the TVDU, Elijah coming into the Vampire Diaries straight up became my favorite character. loved him and his morals, him being a man of his word and the mercifulness (which turned out to be a bit not for real). then other seasons happened, Originals happened, more importantly him killing Marcel and using always and forever to kill innocents and what not left and right for no reason happened and as of now, he's my least favorite character. not lower than Elena in my list, which is a rock bottom, but he's very much down there. hate is a strong word but definitely feel some sorts of that. but basically, despite all that i don't know how much i blame him for all that's occurred is the episode. if Marcel compelling him made him forget even being a vampire, i don't know why he would help save people he doesn't know, minus what he's heard. so, comparing him not knowing his old life at all and knowing that woman for seven years and being in love (i forgot her name sorry lmao) i don't think it would take him much thought to side with his fiancée... so in conclusion everyone's slightly responsible for Hayley's death, more so Hope (did a literal Caroline on her mum.. sorry lol ) which all pisses me off cause my love for her character really came to be after second or third season.. thank you and looking forward to the rest of season 5 :)

It’s not lost on me that TVD and TO have made it so the ‘bad’ brother from the beginning gets a redemption arc whilst the other goes off the rails in the last season. Elijah’s character has progressively gotten darker the longer we’ve seen him (murdering Marcel) which I have enjoyed but this season? It’s too much. It feels wrong and like a disservice to Elijah to leave the viewers with this taste in our mouths in the final season. I don’t blame Elijah at all for Hayley because this is technically a new character and not our Elijah. My issue is WHYYYY go this far in the final season??? It’s just so obvious how the writers only have eyes for Klaus/Damon. I love Klaus don’t get me wrong. I love tragic stories and endings but seeing Elijah like this to end the show was just too far for me.
