2023-01-31 08:23:44 I remember I bawled my eyes out when she “died”. And then I screamed when I saw her in Paris with JJ. I completely missed the looks JJ and Hotch gave each other the first time I watched this so it was nice to spot them this time around. Reid’s comment about not getting to say goodbye, this is goes back to his dad walking out, Gideon leaving with only a letter, and Elle leaving without the team hearing about it until after the fact. It’s a bit of a sore subject for him and his friend just died, so I get why it hurts, plus it’s a grief response. People focus on really strange things when they are grieving. I knew the second I realised there was a kid involved that Emily put him into hiding, what a genius move on her part! Remembering how she was with the girl in season 3, who was the sole survivor, there’s absolutely no way in hell she’d ever kill a kid, even if it was to spare him the pain Doyle’s enemies would of inflicted on him. It’s frustrating that Doyle and Emily have really good, believable chemistry, because he’s evil! We aren’t supposed to like him but shit…. 😝 love that we also got a throwback to Rossi being the one to ask the hard questions when Penelope was injured, by having him poke Seaver to get her to say what’s on her mind. I don’t blame her for not speaking up, she’s the rookie, so she’s not sure of herself at this stage. That voicemail from Garcia hurt my heart! I love her witty banter usually (though I agree our girl loves to ramble!) but I’m so glad they didn’t have her do it this episode because it showed how much this is affecting her too. Kind of like how she was when Reid was kidnapped and when he was infected with Anthrax. She can’t be her usual sparkly self when the team is in peril. Morgan, I get his thought process, but I don’t think his traumatic past with Carl Buford is on the same level as Emily literally withholding and flushing! evidence. That said, the reason she didn’t involve the team is because she knew Doyle had people watching all of them, to the point he knew their movements and routines at the same moment he was meeting with Emily. She literally couldn’t tell them shit, or they’d just end up shot like Fahey. This is by far the best episode of season 6! Such a great episode!
