If you remember. Sam and BOBBY did the same thing to dean for a year to let him live his life instead of dragging him back into the hunter life. Cas did not want to involve them in his war. But also if you remember when Sam would call him he never answered because he knew something was off with Sam but did not know exactly what so he never took credit for bringing him back. When Sam got his soul back and called Cas he answered immediately because he knew it was his fault Sam had to get it back. 6x4 weekend at Bobby's showed us that bobby has trouble asking for help as well. the boys take him and Cas for granted. So cas also struggles because of Pride.
