I genuinely can’t believe they started from your wrist. Stuff like this makes me wonder how doctors first realised they could do things like this. And can I just say yes hospital food has always been weird in my experience. I’ve never had surgery but whenever I’ve stayed at the hospital I would get a jacket potato with cheese/tuna and bread each day. I would end up asking family to get me a smoothie and soft stuff instead. You’d think liquid food would be an option at least ahah. I’m happy you’re starting to get better. I hope you get back to 100% soon

Right? I was shooketh because I came in thinking they were going to go through the groin. I guess this worked better because this way I was able to walk right away. And hospital food is the worst.

One more thing. I've found great way to start a conversation with a doctor or a nurse is to ask them what medical things movies and TV shows get wrong. For example there's lots of movie scenes where, "His heart stopped! Give me the defibrillator. CLEAR!" (zap). That's completely wrong. The purpose of the defibrillator is to *stop* your heart. You use it when someone's heart has gone into a dangerous rhythm like tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation, so you stop their heart in the hope that it will start again with normal sinus rhythm. But if their heart has already stopped the defibrillator is quite useless. It's time for CPR.
