I disagree. People recap what the other already knows again, and again and again in real life. It is incredibly frustrating to have to recap or remind people of stuff you've said and they apparently understood, but in fact they didn't..... It happens all the time in reality! Notice Lucifer said that going against Dan's self imposed hell, would destroy free will for everyone! So it is extremely forbotten! (God's Prime Directive if you would - that everyone has free will and even God cannot break that) You glossed over the new girl with the bizarro boots! Almost everyone exclaims "who the frak is that?" when the camera reveals her legs...

Maze can't go to hell without either Lucifer or Amenadiel taking her there.... And Eric says it sounds like God's job is to care about all humanity, but can't do anything to intervene because he gave every being free will. But he's set things up in a clever way - both celestial and mortal have self actualizing consequences for bad choices, and good ones too. So ultimately the "system" is automatic, so he does not have to intervene, nor can he without taking free will away. So every being makes their own Hell or Heaven based on their choices and beliefs and deeply held self imagery. So now we know why the big guy as Ella puts it, was always cryptic and had "mysterious ways" - to uphold free will. Lucifer is finding the same thing in dealing with Dan - Lucifer could divine what Dan's guilt is, but that isn't going to help Dan, so Dan ends up being pissed with Luci for his Mysterious Ways now!
