2023-01-31 08:28:10 I LOVE that Damon chose to save Bonnie. Like, there was no hesitation. He knows that after Bonnie has lived a long life, he'll get Elena back and they can live their human life together. I just really like that Bonnie was finally put first. (Though it's kinda sad that I'm pretty sure the only reason she was put first was because Nina wanted to leave the show... If she hadn't, then Julie Plec likely would've tried killing Bonnie off again...) But having it be Damon of all people to put Bonnie first like that is really powerful imo, and really shows that he's grown a lot. In the past, he would've killed her without hesitation in this situation. But now he cares about Bonnie, and he cares about people other than Elena and Stefan, and he made the right choice. This is when i stopped watching TVD. I binged the show and later seasons felt like there was a lot of bleh mixed with some good and when i heard Nina left i stopped. Even though i disliked Elena at this point in the show she was still the focal point most of the time and i was just dissapointed in the abrupt ending of that character and i felt they shouldve wrapped up the show in 5-6 seasons max. I did read up on last 2 seasons so i know what happens but this time im gonna join you in the watching journey :)

I love that Damon put Bonnie first and saved her even more because it mirrors real-life, where Ian constantly had to stand up for Kat so the show runners wouldn't kill her off any chance they got just because they didn't know what to do with the character (and potentially other rerasons, if we're honest)
