I believe that a lot of the attitude towards Cam is due in part to the fact that she was originally only supposed to appear in a six episode arc before leaving the show, and as such was meant more as a outside opposition. The cast and crew loved her and her actress so much that they decided to change that and keep her on the show. As such, their attitude towards her will begin to change a lot.

I enjoyed the episode. It had a bit of an espionage angle with the Scoobies trying to circumvent the whole diplomatic immunity stuff. The whole thing was tragic because the victim's mother gave her the worst advice in the history of advice. If her daughter had successfully gotten herself knocked up, the Ramos family could use their diplomatic immunity to shield themselves from any financial obligations ( a very common use of the privilege). So Lisa and her mom's scheme was doomed to fail and they certainly didn't take into account that Mama Ramos might not take too kindly to their shenanigans.
