D Boss

This series is on par with House as to solving intractable puzzles. And where House is a genius, Holmes is a genius and a savant. Though not in the usual sense of a savant where the person has a low IQ but excels in one area. Holmes excels in multiple disciplines and is quite intelligent and even cultured - just that he abhors most of the high brow snobbish culture he was brought up with (his father is obviously very wealthy from the dialogue even in this pilot episode). But he's met his match with Watson - she shows herself to be as astute and intrigued by puzzles and deduction as he is when she deduced his problem in London was about a woman.... and she solved the murder in the end! If you had to choose between watching House and Elementary, watch Elementary. Though I would watch both. Both are as compelling as is Lucifer but for a differing reason than Lucifer is compelling. Both are with exceptional skills of the main character, but who's essence is damaged. Both are well written mysteries and really good character development etc. And no Sherlock doesn't deduce everything - he gets some stuff wrong. But if you are observant - the kind of "reading" of situations becomes second nature, and instinctual.
