Through season 5, Spike has proved himself to Buffy that he can be an great ally so I get that she confides in Spike after her return as she feels that she can't tell anyone else. But what happens after, imo, doesn't ring true to Buffy's character.

2023-01-31 08:29:59 The Willow storyline in this show is probably the most dramatic in the show and in this episode we see her hit rock bottom. Willow has misused magic multiple times in the past but as her powers at the time were weaker so were the ill-effects. Those magics that she craved have now taken full control of her, to the extents that she has lost Tara because of it and almost killed Dawn. Her conversation with Buffy was very revealing about her character that she wanted to escape her season 1 persona to become an uber powerful witch. As much I like witchy Willow I still love the shy nerdy Willow from season 1 (rather like season 1 FitzSimmons) and I am sure that Tara would too.
