I can understand Rebekah and Marcel were desperate and made a terrible decision out of that desperation, but this was just too far. They not only brought the man who was hunting them to town in order to get Klaus to flee, they brought his abuser back to him. And I feel that these two are the people that it'd hurt most from. Rebekah who saw the abuse when they were young, who apparently always stood by him and was there for him. And Marcel, who Klaus sees as a son, who he rescued from his own abusive situation, who knows what that feels like. And this incident is what left Klaus believing Marcel to be dead too. It's been said that when Mikael came and they fled, they believed Marcel to be dead. This whole thing was the cause of so much pain for him, and to find out it wasn't just Mikael getting lucky and finding them, but two of the people he trusted most, the people he loved the most, actually bringing him there and causing that pain. It's horrible and I feel awful for him. And the fact that he also learned that Rebekah stole that knife which he got the blame for. And the fact that had she told the truth back then, the worst that would've happened probably would be Mikael taking the knife away from her, whereas Klaus got beaten half to death because of it. That's two betrayals he learned of at the same time. Then of course Elijah stabs him with that horrible blade. Which, I understand why he did it because he just wanted to protect Rebekah. But that's three betrayals from those he cares most about. While he was still coming to terms with Rebekah and Marcel's last betrayal, and Elijah believing the worst in his intentions for his child. It's honestly really bad timing for all this and everything is just building up and I feel awful for him. Like I said though, I do understand Rebekah and Marcel's side of things too. They just wanted to be together and felt that the only way for that to happen was if Klaus was gone, and the only way they saw that happening was by having Mikael chase him out of town. Rebekah just wanted to be happy for once in her life, and Marcel just wanted to make that happen. But it really was way too far. And like you said, they didn't think about everyone else it would effect. They didn't think about Elijah, or any of the other vampires in New Orleans, or even themselves in a way. What did they expect? For Klaus to just abandon them to Mikael? He'd do everything in his power to drag them along with him out of fear of Mikael killing them. It really was a terrible plan. This is in no way me excusing Klaus' behaviour. I love him, he's my favourite character and so I have a bias towards him, but I do know that in a way he did bring this on himself. I just also know that they went too far and he has every right to be angry about it...
