I love this movie! So imaginative in the set design and costumes. It was very French in its sensibilities . Everyone's performance was perfect. This was definitely not your standard sci-fi action movie. Great music too.

Technically they should have known she was female from the genetic sample (XX chromosomes vs. XY). Sometimes you just need to relax and cut the story some slack. ;-)

I say things from this movie to my friends all the time. "I didn't come here to play poombah on the radio." "Are you making fun of me?" "Multi-Pass". And I love how the scenes simultaneously flow together, like the first time Zorg discovers the crate is empty crossed with Leeloo explaining to the Priest where the stones are or the fight scene in the Diva's room crossed with the Diva on stage. Brilliant filmmaking!

Her culture has known all about Earth and humans for thousands of years. Would war really that big a surprise? But the Priest did say she was catching up on the last 5,000 years...

The President was played by Tiny Lister (who passed away recently). He had a small but memorable role in The Dark Knight.
