This series is absolutely fantastic. Kristen Ritter is perfect as Jessica. All the side characters are great in their own way. Exceptionally well written story. We have not actually met Killgrave yet but he is already terrifying.

As far as the MCU timeline, this is post Avengers. The tie-ins are slight and really inconsequential. You could easily watch this show without any knowledge of the MCU. Most Marvel stories are set in New York (they change some locations for the films) because that is where they were based for their formative years, All the Netflix shows are based in different parts of NYC. Jessica Jones and Matt Murdock (Daredevil) both live in Hell's Kitchen, which is also where the orphanage that Daisy Johnson spent time as a child is. Spiderman is from Queens, Captain America is from Brooklyn, Doctor Strange is in Soho, Stark Tower is in Manhattan. So you would think NYC would be a lot safer. LOL

I love the tie-ins. Daisy and Matt Murdock being at the same orphanage (though probably not overlapping since he's older) is cool. There's an episode of Agents of SHIELD where a news crawl on a TV in the background references events of the second season of Daredevil.
