It makes sense that Debbie would steal the baby if we really think about it. In the previous episode, they took an old lady and faced no consequences. She was basically taught that kidnapping is okay. It's obviously not okay, but it makes sense that she'd come to that conclusion. And you're right, she definitely should've faced consequences. But if they let people know she did it, there'd be a look into their home life and Social Services would realise that the house is not suitable for kids and they'd get sent off to far worse places. They shouldn't have rewarded her though with the doll. I understand the gesture, it was to fill that void that she clearly had, and probably hoping it'd be enough to stop it from happening again, but they were rewarding bad behaviour. They should've waited a while before giving her a doll, punished her in some way for a while, let her know why what she did was bad, and then later give her the doll... (Steve was definitely right though, in that Therapy is needed. Gallagher rules are pretty fucked up, and really should be revised... Haha) But hey! It's called Shameless for a reason. They're all little psychos at times and that's why we love them... Haha ;-P
