John Walker Is That Dude

the rabies episode can also be apart of the crappy parents outcome u talk about. Ask urself what kind of decent parent would allow their own son watch his baby brother die painfully. They could have let the hospoital induce a coma and let their son die peacefully who care how much it costs. When they brought their son home they could have let another relative watch ur other son they ruined his childhood and life right then and there that was a different kind of child abuse

I've been looking forward to you getting to this episode for ages! It's one of my absolute favourites. The story is heartbreaking, and the twist is so good! There are little hints all throughout, seeing Daria with the cards in present day, her wiping the table as she picks up her drink, just little things like that. Daria is such a heartbreaking character. Seeing just how broken down she is. And that moment where she was telling Morgan about how she willingly did it, that she loved him, with the little flashes of her helping out looking absolutely destroyed. She was still a prisoner, she was still a victim. It was awful. And in that moment she was clearly rewriting what happened, her views in that headspace of what happened are totally different to what actually happened. In both headspaces, she had it wrong really. When she's just herself not remembering that she was the "partner" she's not remembering her part in it all, and when she's remembering what she did and all that she's thinking all was good and that she was happy to be doing it and that she wasn't a victim. Her mind is trying to protect her in both instances. Protecting her from what she did in one mindset, and protecting her from what he did to her in the other. And her sister! I feel awful for her too! She must've been so relieved when she found out Daria was alive and had been found. She was getting her sister back. And she knew she'd be damaged by what happened, no one is gonna survive something like that unscathed. But she thought she was at least getting her sister back. Then she learns that she'd been "involved" in the murders, that there was more to it, but she knows it wasn't her fault (something I love, there was absolutely no blaming her for what she did by either the sister or Morgan...) she knows she's a victim and needs help. Then she's getting help, she's in an Institution, working on getting better and working towards being ready for the Trial. She learns that if Daria testifies she'll get to take her home, she'll be able to take care of her and she'll get her life back. But then Morgan comes out of that room and tells her that's not going to happen because Daria is still very much not okay. He can't let her testify, she can't be let out yet, she still needs so much more help, she is not okay. And her sister has been seeing these hints of the Daria she knew before all this, it's seemed like she's been getting better. So this just seems so out of the blue for her, she's not happy about this. It probably even felt kinda like Daria was being punished for what she went through. But then Daria asks Morgan if he thinks they'll catch the partner and the look on her sisters face. In that moment she absolutely knew Morgan was right. And I think a big reason it was so sudden for her is because they didn't ever talk about what Daria had had to do during that time. She wouldn't want to bring it up and make her go through that, she'd just wanna be there for Daria. So she had no way of being aware that Daria's mind had kinda split and that when she was her old self she didn't actually remember what she'd done, until right at that moment. Morgan really is great. He doesn't get enough credit for just how great he is. The way he is with victims always just makes me love him even more. He understands them, he was victimised himself as a child. Like, obviously certain characters have been through kidnappings and stuff, but that's all to do with the job, it wasn't just random. Morgan as a child was victimised by someone he trusted for no other reason than that he was on his Football team and his Dad was dead. (And, yes, other characters had shitty childhoods and traumas from that too, but Morgan's is just different...) He's just so understanding and soft with them, while also knowing when he has to be a bit more firm because they need information. He just knows. I love him so much! (It's like that episode with that boy, Angel, who had been kidnapped and Derek told him a little about his own experience and gave him his coin thing and he was the one who got him to open up. That's always gonna be one of my favourite Morgan episodes, along with this one...) And that Coby guy. He may not have been involved in the murders or known they were happening or that Daria had been kidnapped. But he was far from innocent in the whole thing. There is NO WAY you could look at Daria and think she was okay in that "relationship." You would look at them and think "abusive relationship." And he didn't do anything to help her. So yeah, he didn't know everything that was going on, but he knew Daria was in a bad situation. He knew his friend was hurting her. There is no way he didn't.
