Michael and Abe are joined by Gamefully Unemployed’s Tom Reimann to discuss the 1989 sci-fi body horror film, Tetsuo: The Iron Man. It’s a horrifying tale of a kind of metal contagion that turns people into hideous metal monsters. There’s a drill dick in it!

I bought this once for I think 40-50$. It was so rare before the blu-ray age. At some point that DVD was bartered with a stack of others for heroin. Wish I still had it. No idea where to stream it.

Currently both TETSUO movies are streaming on Shudder/AMC+.

Honestly kind of surprised you guys missed the interpretation that this very homoerotic film where sex is destructive (but unavoidable and still joyous) and a disease spreads through blood and other bodily fluids (that was made in the 1980’s!) can be seen as being about AIDS - I think it is definitely also about technology transforming society and interpersonal relations, but I wonder if it’s much of a forehead slapping “Oh Yeah!” moment to think about this movie in that light
