Cast is epic, loved it. There’s a Doctor episode that also came out in 2007 called 42 which is essentially a very similar plot. Ship is on a collision course with the sun and everyone’s gotta avoid the sun demon spawn while also getting the ship back online. They were gonna call the ship Icarus but when Sunshine came out, they nixed that cause it would just be too similar at that point. I think the episode for my money is an underrated episode, it’s one of my faves. I’d want to have it as kind of a double feature with this movie, that would be fun. Also, the gimmick of the episode is that it’s all mostly in real-time, as the ship at the beginning of the episode has 42 minutes before it crashes into the sun.
