Stephen Chow's first masterpiece of a movie, and an action/comedy to stand for all time, Kung Fu Hustle finally gets its frames rated. And to make matters hyper, Alex, host of the At Least There's This pod, uses his extensive knowledge of martial arts to explain to Michael and Abraham how inhaling a cigarette in one drag and roaring through a bell is a totally legal move.

Man, this movie was my Jam back in the day. On the subject of how the movie can jus make you feel two strong emotions one after the other, in the scene where Stephen Chow steals the ice cream from the deaf girl and does the hilariously over the top evil laugh, the very next thing you see is her giving up the chase and she just looks so sad and defeated because the guy she’s been carrying a torch for has just robbed her and is now laughing at her. Now, I’ve never been a deaf girl in 1920’s China before, but l can’t imagine it’s an easy life. So l imagine a scenario like this for her has gotta be like the cherry on a s#!t sundae, makes me laugh and then cry every time. Also l had no idea that barber guy with his ass out was supposed to be crapping, this whole time l just thought he was an exhibitionist because everyone in Pigsty Alley has some kinda wacky trait.

YES! I've been wanting a Kung-Fu Hustle Frame Rate for a loooong time.
